Flower Show Has Many Entries One hundred and twelve floral entries were listed for judging nt the F >wer Show, sponsored by the Better Homes Demonstration Club Monday evening at the Town Club Several hundred articles ot handcraft and 'hobbies made by local persons almost stole the show The display conlisted of everything from home, made decorated cookies to quilts ) The show, open to the ^rom । to 9 o’clock, met with much approval as the visitors Viewed the flowers and found the winner's ribbons beside the entries. Janies Capek, local barber, was found the grand champion Winner with hts arrangement of five Parfait rose buds. Mrs. Frank Dunn was the reserve champion or her arrangement of Zinnias, under the all one variety category. Mrs. Ted Feece was the fm -epstakes winner with two fij ds, one second and two thud pl ce. Other winners and their categories were: mixed bouquet, Mrs Newton Williams, Ist and 2’d. Mrs. Feece 3rd; one variety a rangement, Mrs. Mamie May, J t. Mra. Vera Seitz, 2nd. and Mrs. Clyde Stickley 3rd; single rose. Mrs. Dunn Ist. Mrs. George Warner. Mrs. Albert Ray and Mrs Harry Malstaff, dub president, were in charge of arrangements. The door prize was won by Mrs. Jack Hannagen. Community Club To Hold Picnic September 7 The Walkerton Women's Community Club will open their year with a picnic Friday. Sept. 7th. at the City Park in Culver All members are urged to be in Culver by 12 o'clock noon. Any member wishing a ride to the picnic should contact the president. Mrs. Ed Brooker, or Mrs. Harold Swanson, and those planning on driving should contact Mrs. Brooker so the hostess will know how many to expect.
