E-D-I-T-O-R-I-A-l What value do we put on materialistic matters compared with matters of peace of mind and happiness? Can a person truly measure one value against the other? With the recent news of the death of Marilyn Monroe, famed actress and symbol of a change of ideas in movies and entertainment because of her career, one pauses to think, why a person with all she has would take her life. Os course, it is not definitely known whether this was an intentional act or an accident. Miss Monroe, in her 36 years, has had about everything one could want. She came up from a no more than average family from Texas, and through Inr talents and appeal, became a world-known figure. Through het success, she has had about everything a person could want. She had been married three times, and certainly she had money and fame. Yet this combination o elements evidently did not giv her peace of mind. with the happiness and enjoyment received by the average 8:00 to 5:00 daily worker who struggles through years of owning a home, a car and a few of the materialistic things of life, but who, for all tins time, has the nappiness and satisfaction of th« peace of min<l attached. Th so are the people that have t » hh ■ a baby sitter to go o il and sec a movie or for other entertainment for a night, oppose! to those who have their children raised by guardians, tutors and servants while tie y pursue then fast and furious lite. On can more appreciate what they have after thinking such as this over. It is very obvious that money hasn't brought happiness to Miss Monroe or to hundreds of other wealthy persons whose lives arc similar. Many have bought everything they cm imagine with the dollars they own, but have not searched the other source for true happiness and satisfacti m that tlvy could get from lite.
