There were some sparkling fielding plays as well by both sides, but a i ouple oi fine plays by the American Leaguers that helped them stay out of trouble. However, one thing should have satisfied the f ins, that of seeing most of the players available. In recent games the managers have run them in and out on a wholesale basis. Yesterday was not much diff event. except La three men who played the entire game lor the American League those being Malis, Colavito and Gentile, the three four and five hitters. It always appeared from here that if you are playing to win. use your best and if these three ate good enough to bat right in the middle of the order, then they are the best you have. HOWEVER, IN THE N'Atioiial league, Willie Mays was taken out after a few innings and ho is one of the best pm - formers the All Star games have ever seen. He seems to produce that something extra in these mid-summer classics. One thing happened Monday that had to bring a little Chuckie from tl4e fans, that concerning a pitcher hitting. Hank Aguirre. who is definitely in the running for the worst hitter in baseball, batted twice in the game as his turn came ujl twice while he was pitching.
