Charles Dixon, who has been laid up for sometime and was hospitalized for awhile was able to return to work this week. Stringtown Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hawblitzel <>f California, spent several days last week visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kane on Redwood Road. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Thayer attended the Marshall County picnic held Sunday at the Milo Matz home. About ninety attend ed. The Shenemans received word from their son. Dennis, that he is back at Fort Carson, Colo., and is to be discharged on August 9. The community was shocked on Saturday morning to hear of the death of Rev. Ralph Handschu, of Lakeville. He will be greatly missed at the Tabor E U. B. Church where he attended. The Rupel reunion will be held Saturday at the Sheneman grove and on Sunday the Schmeltz family will hold their reunion. Mr and Mrs W. A, Miller, nf Sycamore Road accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Oren Miller of South Bend on a fishing trip to Little Rm k and Hot Springs. Aik., last week. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Carlson were supper guests Wednesday evening of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Miller.
