Return From \ Three Week Trip To West & Canada Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty have just completed a three weeks vacation during which they traveled over eight thousand miles in South-ern Canada and in the United States. Fine weather and beautiful scenery were enjoyed on the entire trip. Entering Canada at Sault Saint Marie, they traveled westward on the new Trans-Canada highway featured in the June Readers Digest. The Canadian Rockies are truly beautiful. Overnight in a housetrailer at the foot of the mountains near Banff, the visit to Lake Louise and a ride in a chair lift to the top of the mountain through falling snow in July were unforge^ble pleasures. From here we went to Tai oma, Washington, for a visit with Mrs. Burnsides’ brother and wife, and went to the Worlds Fair at Seattle. In Portland, Oregon, we visited the beautiful Lambert Gardens then traveled to a state park near Sands for Wilder to renew acquaintance with an old friend. Vernon Strang, formerly of Tyner. Here Richard's mother. Mrs, Marie Roberts of Ft. Wayne, joined us for the return trip after a month's visit. Several National Parks were visited on the way home, among them Zion and Bryce Canyon, Mesa Verda. Capitol Reef, the Ozarks and a short stop at New Harmony in Indiana. A highlight for Mrs. Burnside was a visit with a girlluxxl friend formerly of Monon. Ind., now living near Durango. Colorado. They had not seen each other for forty yeas. And how they did talk.
