E-D-I- T-O-R-I -A-L What is the favorite American pastime? Is it baseball? Dees fishing and outdoor sports attract more? Could bowling or golf get the nod. Does staying at home and watching TV attract more? Or could it be fun at the beaches and swimming pools? No. none of these ranks first with the American people. Driving and riding in the family or one's own car occupies mbre time than any other hobby or sport. Os course, this doesn't mean people just drive to be driving, as a lot of the driving on the road is for business as well as pleasure. However, today the roads of our nation often lead to the hospitals, the doctors' offices 01 even the funeral home. Last year alm< st 38,000 persons lost their lives on the highways of \merica.
