Mr. and Mi Delmar Shirley and ihrec children, of WolcoHviilc, were Sunday visitors of the Calvin Tarlyton family. Gary Mei hling is spending this week at the Methodist Church Camp at Battleground, Indiana. Mi. and Mrs. T. C. Mr. and Mis Agnew Ludwig and sons spent last week v&- ; rationing in Sinking Springs. Pa, villi Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Ludwig. Mrs. Robert Gardner and sons, Timmie and Terry, spent from Thuoday to Monday at McCormick's Creek near Bloomington. Mr. Gardner joined them for the week end. While there they vis. fted with Mr. and Mrs. Her. sciiel Eaton and family. Mr and Mrs. W, S. Rautio visited his parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Rautio, in Ironwood, Mich., from Friday to Tuesday of last week. They spent the 4th of July with Capt. Belanger, who is commander of the State Police Post in Calumet. Mich. Saturday they attended the wedding of their niece. Miss Allene Miller, in Detroit. They returned home Sunday. Afred Drew.s was called to Greesboro, Md , last week by tiie death of a brother-in-law. Mr. Cannon. Mr. and Mrs. John Schmeltz and son. Doug, of Rolling Prairie, a nd Mr. and Mis. Orby Baughman, of Lakeville, spent Sunday afternoon at the Orville Schmeltz home near Walkerton. Mi. and Mrs. Charles Haw. blitzel, of Altadena. Calif., are vi.-uing in Three Rivers, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schoolman. of South Bend, called on Mr. and Mrs. Orby Baughman of Lakeville, Ind. Fourth of July guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Ingram were Mrs. Ingram’s brother and wife, Mr and Mrs. Loren Short, of Granger. ENJOY VACATION IX HAWAII Mr. and Mrs. John Guttman have returned from a month's vacation in Hawaii and California. They were accompanied by Mr. Guttman's sister of Mankato, Minnesota. While visiting Hawaii, they toured the outer islands of Kauai. the Garden Island. Maui and Hawaii, the Big Island, and the main island of Aahu. Enroute home, the jet airliner, shortly after leaving Los Angeles, was forced to make an emergency landing at Edwards Air Force Base in the Mohave desert, due to an explosion in one of the engines which caused a fire in that engine and also tore off the cowling. All 125 passengers were uninjured. They were returned to Los Angeles and rerouted to their destinations.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clem and Mary Ellen, of Largo, Fla., were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Ferverda. Mr and Mrs. George Ferverda, Mi. and Mrs. James M rrry and Mrs. Lee Chapman were in Peotone, 111., Tuesday, July 3, to attend the funeral of Mrs. Bertha Ihse, cf West Covina. California. Mr. and Mrs. George Morrey, West Covina, Calif., arc guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Ferverda for several days. Mrs. B. F. Williams accompanied her daughter. Deanne, and Harriet Mechling, to Bloomington. Ind., Tuesday and Wednesday for Freshmen orientation at Indiana University. Mr. and Mrs. Judd Wilkens and two children, of Bethseda, Md., arrived Monday for several days visit with Mr. Wilkens' sister, Mis. Ben Brede.

Robert Ingram is visiting relatives in Bunon, Lexington and Madison, Ind. Guests in the home of Mrs. Thomas Gordon the past two weeks were Mrs. Shirley Miller, Mrs. Peggy Wmnz, Mr. and Mrs. Al Herrick, and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Hooten and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Berry and family, all of Chicago, and Mm and Mrs. David Newman and family, New London, Conn. Claude Watkins is in Michael Reese Hospital. Chicago, where he underwent .surgery on his left eye. He is getting along nicely.
