Chicago lias the credit of giring this city ecme of her atyles. The Hading Teil, which put eTery one thitirore then into a birdcase, "was quoted as the Chicago Btjle, The black parrot wn -worn home by a girl who had been Tisiting there, and she said they ver tho tjle in Chicago. Now comes the last, and a little bit the worst Chicago ladies wear no collars. xncha or anything white about the neck. The plain skirts and waists which h.vr been the rae for some time looked primitive, but now that collars have cone, one might as well pattern after tho backwooks or kitchen as Chicago, and to this plain dress, no-collar style might bo added the neglige hair-dressing, which looks as if the hair might have been dono tip in curl papers a week or two ago. slept j" uu not com drci. om wajiuea tip m tho Psyche knot. This is supposed to iu i!itically careless. It's a sad thing tnat Chicago has to bo made responsible for this extreme of "dowdyisn," but as all followers of the fashion came from that city, and said it was so there, why, of course, k great many have adopted the veil, dress, no collar and hair styles. If they lo not last any longer than tho Hading "veil did, the community may expect relief by Christmas. Notwithstanding Chicago is said to have started them, many ladies have come here from that city who , nave loliowed none of these styles. They . "Cdi picujr kowujl uecomiug veils, nave . their hair arranged with a semblance of .uca i uesa, ana. ineir necitg (10 not look as if they run short of collars and ribbons. A . woman with a graceful white neck, not too long or too snort, ana above all a youthful . woman, may wear a corsage with a sbort- ; pointed cut neck to it. and look well; but one with a long neck, who puts her hair on top or her lead and on top of that a small ponnet with no strings, is not a pretty oblecfcto look At even if sho is in tho style. Anew kind of an entertainment which can partially take the place of a large evening party has been originated and is spoken of 'in one of the fashion papers that come West from the Metropolis. It is an egagement party, and is especially practical in a large hor?e, one that has a cirawintf-rnnm onnnn m nf Via h nil e!f C ' - - - V A ' W M If U V ting-room, library and dining-room would m especially desirable. One can give a large party, iird yet it will not be as formal as the regulation dancing-party. As no one knows, imless told, how many engagements have oeen made, there is no certainty as to tho result. One very agreeable feature of suci a party is that every one has something U lo. No girl is left to tind enjoyment for jjwoci.ui ym iur larit oi aiienuou. lno bostess is- relieved, for she knows that very guest is busy, and the end of the evening comes all too .vwn. The host and hostess, or somepersouS selected, collect the programmes, which should all be signed by, the owner, couct the engagements and make the award. Some one should try this very soon and let the result be known. - One of tflo Lite conceits in bangles is to have some . couplet from Sbakspeare's works on eacn, with the Dlay. act and scene also marked. Collections of these have been started, and. as there is no end to the .Jjnotatiom, a large number may be secured. 1 he surface of the bangle is flat, and the letters ara raised, consequently they are a trifle wider than the ordinary bangle, and aremado in silver and gold. All kinds of food distressed me, and only tho most delK cate could bo digested atttll. "Within the time mentioned several physicians treated ine without giving relief. Nothing that I took seemed to do any permanent good until I began the use of Ayer's oarsaparilla, which has produced wonderful results. Soon after " commencing to take the Sarsapariila I could see an ' . Improvement in my condition, my appetite began to return and with it came the ability to digest all the food taken, my strength improved each day, and after - a few months of faithful attention to your directions, I found myself a well woman, able to attend to all household duties. The medicine has given me a new lease of life, and I cannot thank you too much." ""We, the undersigned, citizens of Tirockway Centre, Mich., hereby certify that the above statement, made by Mrs. Lake, ia true in every particular and entitled to full credence." O. P. Chamberlain, G. W. Waring, C. A. Wells, Druggist. My brother, in England, was, for a long time, unable to attend to his occu pat ion. by reason of sores on his foot.
