TO BE TRIED FOR MURDER. Charles St Clair, an Indianapolis Fakir, Arrested for Killing: a Horse-Jockey. On the night of the 4th of last Jane Theodore Tate, horse-jockey, was murdered and robbed t Columbus, this State. The crime was committed in a remote part of IbVcity, late at night, nd all effort of , the local officers to find the murderer were unsuccessful. Six weeks ago Detective Grady, of this city, was employed to ferret out the crime, and in less than two weeks he bad secured enough evidence against Charles St Clair to warrant his arrest The county fair was in progress at Columbus when the murder occurred, and St. Clair, with a companion named "Club-foot Johnny," and George Kerby, two notorious criminals, were attending the fair and running a confidence game. Mr. Grady found several eye witnesses to the crime, who furnished the evidence that St. Clair saw Tate draw his pay, $G0, and went out with him and got him drunk. About ' midnight he enticed Tate to a lonely soot clown on the railroad, and, drawing a conpline pin from a car, struck the blow that ended bis life. One of these witnesses, Charles Brand, swore out a warrant for St Clair's arrest, and Grady then set about to find bis man. St Clair's home has always been in this city, bat his business as a gambler and confidence man kept him away the creator part of the time. He has been wanted in different parts of the country for thre years for various crimes, and whenever he called upon his wife here he always came and went at night, aiseaised. The . detectives watched his house for two weeks, hut he did not come, and a man was then sent on the road to hunt him. Traces of him were found in Louisville, St. Louis, Cincinnati, and other cities, but he eluded tho police, who were instructed to be on the lookout for him. The first of the week Detective Grady received from the chief of police of Cleveland, O., a description of a confidence-man there who was thoueht to be St Clair. A man was immediately sent to Cleveland to follow up the clew, nnd yesterday mornine the arrest was made. Mr. Grady was notified by telegraph, and, with requisition papers from Gov. Gray, started for his man last nieht. St Clair will be taken to Columbus for trial. St Clair has been known as a criminal of the worst kind. His real name is not St Clair, and no one seems to know what it is. When he was a young man he was sent to the penitentiary, and took the name of St. Clair, which he has borne since. He was suspected of being implicated in the noted Long Point murder, and was arrested for the criitie, but, on account of a lack of evidence, he was acquitted. Detective Grady will secure a large reward if the prisoner is -convicted.

In the Spring

Nearly everybody needs a good medicine.. The impurities which have accumulated in the blood during the cold months must be expelled, or when the mild days come, and the- effect of bracing air is lost, the body is liable to be overcome by debility or some serious disease. The remarkable success achieved by Hood's Sarsaparilla, and the many words of praise it has received, make it worthy your confidence. We ask you to give this medicine a trial. We are sure it will do you good. "Last spring I was completely fagged out. My strength left me and I felt sick and miserable all the time, so that I could hardly attend to my business. I took one bottle of Hood's Sarsaparilla, and it cured me. There is nothing like it." R. C. BEGOLI, editor Enterprise, Belleville, Mich. N. B. Be sure to get the Peculiar Medicine, r

A MESSAGE TO YOU -The Truth, and Nothing, but the Truth, Before High Heaven. Suffering humanity never received from the hand of druggist or physician the equal of "Ocean Wave Lime." The matchless specific f or every derangement of the stomach, and the only warranted dyspepsia cure among civilized men. Indorsed at home by hundreds of people of unquestioned integrity aud respectability, who could not be induced to say a '"good word" for a "bad remedy." Bead the testimony, then go interview the witnesses, and you will find the oral stronger than the written evidence.

' Offices of the Supeems Coitxcil Obdee of Chosen Fkiesds, Delaware and Mabket Stbeets. ? 0 Indianapolis, April 8, 1887. 5 Marshall C. Woods & Co., 9 South Meridian Street. City:- Usually I am opposed to patent medicines, but must say that the powder you term '"Ocean Wave Lime" worked wonders for my wife, in a very stubborn case of indigestion (deep-seated dyspepsia.) She had taken many of the well-known remedies, which produced but temporary relief. After taking two packages of your i emedy, she felt little or no inconvenience from her f ormer troubles, and can now eat any tiling that she relishes. . . ... ' r if you see .fit to publish this, I hope it will prove as great a benefit to you as "Ocean Wave Lime" did to Mrs. Y. ' T. J. Yount. . April 21. 1887. - Ocean Wave Lime Company: The package of "Ocean Wave Lime" I purchased at your central office, No. 9 South Meridian street, answers every purpose and has had the desired effect with me. 1 have for over twenty years taken medicine for indigestion and constipation, and have found nothing that has done me the good that "Ocean Wave Lime" has. Yon will remember my first visit to your office to consult you regarding the remedy, and the complications of - the dread disease from which Mrs. B. suffered indescribable anguish. After using one package she was entirely relieved from the slightest symptom of the disease that had baffled every-remedial agent save your own. It has been six months since she took ' Ocean Wave Lime," and no symptom of the return of the disease has yet appeared, and to-day she is entirely well, and has no inconvenience whatever from eating.
