A committee composed of several members from different pars of the district of St. Genivieve & New Bourbon, assembled at the house of Dr. Walter Fenwick in the Village of St. Gen-
ivieve, on the second day of
September, 1804, and having chosen, Dr. Walter Fenwick president, and James Fin-
ney secretary, proceeded to

of the inhabitants of the dis-
trict of st. Genivieve & New-
Bourbon, between the Merimac river and Apple creek, whom they represent, are sincerely desirous that all distinction between Americans rand Frenchmen should be done away, and as they con-
sider it impossible to effect so

his excellency governor Harrison, with an address upon his arrival in this district, declaratory of their entire approbation of his appointment, and determination to support him in his official duties whilst acting as governor of the Upper Louisiana.
