The loss Was not discovered for a couple of days and then he was not .inspected, but • search warrant was obtained for Innocent parties. Finally It occurred to the gentleman who bad lost the watch that he would "prospect” for It, and happening to meet Smith he accused him ol tbo theft. The suddenness of the thing Was toe mngh ffir him and he confessed tho crime, saying that be had taken the Watch to OOelnnatl and paWned it for fort} dollars *t a shop on Fifth streef. •nd, from fear of detection, had destroyed tb# ticket which ho received from the pawnbroker. ‘‘While the owner of the Watch was getting a warMnt for his arrest, Smith left the olfy, and the former going to Cincinnati, after some trouble, succeeded In recovering the property. Smith has not yet been arrested.
