THE CHIEF CAUSES OF PESTILENCE DESTROYED. TYR. COUItTARKT’S DISINFECTING FLUIDS. Socured by Lotters Patent la tbo United Slates and France. ■ Prepared solely by the Now York Di.-infecting Company, at their laboratory, Nos. 5W8, 300 and 302 Ib-nry : treet, New York. Otlice, 42 Cedar street. This company organized on a permanent basis, with Dr. Courlaret, the celebrated French Ch tmist, in charge of i s Laboratory, is prepared to furnish its Disinfecting Fluids for sick rooms, nurseries, urinals, water closets, privies, cesspools, sewers, gutters, ships, railroads, hospitals, prisons, ami public institutions of all kinds, slaughter houses, offal ami fat-boiling establishments; all kinds of manures, (immen.-edy increasing the valuebf the la'tcr to every farmer,) and wheravor poisonous
and offensive gasses exist. These agents are deodorizers, antiseptics, antiputrescents, and rtixcnfectants in the sdentilic meaning of the words. They remove noxiouxgases and odors by the chemical princij>les—leaving In their placeshealthiu! air; they are destroyers, and not merely absorbents of poisonous gasses; not injurious to utensils in which they are used. The attention of medical and scientific men is directed to these disenfeclants. Attached are testimonials in favor of this great discovery, which, with hundreds of others can be seen at the
company’s office.

To the President of the .New York DisInfectlngCompsny:
uted to be. We have
r.p
made many trials of dis nf- ctants, but now consider that we have found an article which snrpasses all others ai a
The ImlianapolD corrcspomh-nt of the ’Express is down like :i thousand of briek upon the project of a railroad from that city to Decatur, illinois, by the way of Danville, Bainbridge, Rockville and Montezuma, to connect with the Hannibal and St. Joseph railroad— and all because some of the otth ers are Democrats'. The utility and importance of the work arc considered as nothing when compared to the necessity of having sneh undertakings under the exclusive control of men who are politically orthodox, and believe in the higher law. the irrepressible conflict, and negro equality! The writer evidently thinks that none bill abolitionists have any right to engage in projects calculated to develop tlie resources of the country, and that it is the height of impudence for conservative national men to invest their capital in railroads or other enterprises, and more especially to aspire to oflleial positions in companies chartered for such purpose?. So far as the names of the directors are known to us. we noticed only two prominently connected with Democratic politics, viz: The Hon. Joseph 15. McDonald and William 11. Talbott, esq. The secretary of the company, Mr. Klbott, is a prominent Republican, and the other directors seem to be business men and capitalists, and selected as such, at difl'erent points along the line of the road, without the feast regard to their politics. Of their political affinities we know nothing, except of E. M. Benson, esq., of Montezuma, who merely votes the Democratic ticket, but has never mixed actively in the political contests of the dav, or been an aspirant for any public trust. We presume the other officers and directors arc of the same inoffensive class, which none hut a radical abolitionist could find any fault with. We pity the man whose gizzard is so small as to attempt to arn^t impede the progress of a work of such magnitude and utility, because it is not under the control of sectional Tanaties, whose intermeddling propagandism was the primary cause of all our troubles.—r«rr« Haute Journal, llth
