United States Circuit Court —Before Judge McDonald.—The Court has adjourned until Friday. . . ——⤛●⤜—— Attempted Burglary.— Yesterday morning about six o'clock, an individual entered the Pyle House, and when discovered was in one of the rooms suspiciously handling certain articles of clothing belonging to one of the boarders. Mr. Elliott, the occupant of the room, discovered him. The would-be burglar, feigning that he had made a mistake, attempted to excuse himself by saying that he thought "this was Jones' room." Mr. Elliott could not be thus persuaded. but raised an alarm. The burglar made a rapid exit through the door, down stairs and into the street, crying "murder." He was vigorously pursued and was finally brought to bay in Mr. Morrison's back yard, on the corner of Pennsylvania and Market streets, and handed over to the tender care of the jailor. He gave his name as John Mathews, and will have his hearing before the Mayor this afternoon.

I)iinbp, and the following was adopted as expressing the view s of the meeting: In th opinion of the business nu n of In-dianaiM.li-, the Mate Agricultural College should e located on some eligible f irm in the v icinity of this city. We are led to this opinion not only by our local interests, but from a strong conviction that this selection is of vital Importance to the fullest success of the new Institution. The general welfare aud the Ugliest permanent prosperity of the College, should alone be the guide in the choice of a site. The advantages of Indianapolis are briefly Firt That it is the central position, and easiest 'f aeeess to all eitizcns of the Mate. Second That the legislature can. from lime to time, investigate the condition of the College and thereby nvrc w isely nmnJ nnd improve it Third That this locality !eing the g-o-rraphic il. politieal, and commercial center of the Mate, would obviously attract the largest number of students, and thus effect the greatest 1; m d. Fourth Her, more than at any other point, strangers from abroad would observe the workings of the College, and thereby advance the power of lndiaua iu other parts of the country. Fifth Lectures of eminent men, addresses on special educational topics, apparatus, books, uiaciiinery, improved seed, stoi k, etc., and nil objects Iii science or art illustrative of the ütmiiea pursued, could lie obtained here more readily thin at any other points. sixth The limited success of State educational institution at mall interior points, shows that the in-Te central the position, the larger the measure of prosperity. The meeting then adJournxl to meet at the ChamlteT of Commerce this ( Wednesday ) eveuing, at seven o.cl .ck, where, It is hoped, aud expectid, that all citizens interested in the prosperity of the College, and ot the city, will be present.
