This town has been laid out under the authority of the State of Indiana, cn the site located for its permanent teat of government, by Commissioners appointed for that purpose, on the Kat bank of the West Fork of "White River, in the centre of the state. It is situated on a high, dry, uninterrupted plane of several miles extent, perfectly free from inundation, marshes and p:rul. The site of the town and the surrounding country is in an eminent degree beautiful and fertile, and is prohablv the best bodyof land in the state. 'I he plan ol the tow n is calculated to io-urc the health, comfort and convenience of its inhabitants, and occupies a space of one mile square. It is confidently expec Ud t!iat the Great National Turnpike lioad from Washington City to 3Miouri, will pass through Indianapolis, iud the seats of government of Ohio and Illinois. The conditions of the sale are libera!, and are as follows. 4 Sect. (5. Every purchase- of any ' lot or lots shall, at the time of makin such purchase, pay into the hands ei the agent, one fifth part of the purchae money, the residue to be paid in four annual instalments; the purchaser in all cases to have a discount at the rae of H per cent, per annum, for prompt payment on any instalment, for all mollies paid for the purchase of lo?."'
