The almost unparalleled fertility ot the soil of those lands cannot fail to operate as a strong inducement to those whose wish it may be to engage in the independent and laudable science of agriculture, the very basis upon which all manufacturing and commercial pursuits are bottomed. There will also be sold, at the same time and place, a large number of LOTS, excellently situated in Terre Haute. The well known fertility of the surrounding country, the navagition, the strong presumption of the G eat National Turnpike passing immr dia ly through this town, the. i cn aneiit establishment of the Seat ofJu-a.ce, the United States Land Office, and the sublime prospect of native pictur sque scenery, which the spectator must have in. full view before him, all concur in declaring this to be a place of rising importance and future grandeur. MOSES HOGG ATT, jlgmt for Vip Terre Haute Co. Terrr Haute, July 1, 1821. tl-Oct. To the Public. Owing to the repi esentations of a man, who was particularly delegated for that purpose, by my political and personal enemies, of this County, the last legislative was induced to repo't charges against my o.Tuial conduct. The same merciless pursuers cf my reputation and happiness, have been, and are still active in circulating those representations throughout the State, to create a prejudice against me and forestall public opinion. I therefore feel it a fluty to myself ana the inhabitants of this county to warn the public against crediting their malicious representations, and to request that their opinions relative to those charges may be suspended, until 1 shall have an opportunity of answering them before the proper tribunal.
