INDIANAPOLIS On the 2d Monday in OCTOBER next, the Lots in the Town of INDIANAPOLIS will be ol fercd for Sale by Public Auction on the premises. This town has been laid fut under the authority of the State of Indiana, on the site located for its per , inancnt scat of government, by Commissioners appointed for that purpose, on the East batik of the West Fork of "White River, in the centre of the state. It is situated on a high, dry, uninterrup'.cd plane of several miles extent, perfectly frec-from inundation, marshes and ponds. Ths site of (he town and the surrounding country is in an eminent degree beautiful and fertile, and is probably the best bodycf land in the state. The plan ol the town is calculated to insure tne health, comfort and convenience of its inhabitants, and occupies a space of ooe mile square. Good -wholesome water may be had at the depth of 20 feet, in any part of it, in a sandy stratum. It is confidently expected that the Great National Turnpike Road trom Washington City to Missouri, will pass through Indianapolis, and the seats of government of Ohio and Illinois. The conditions of the sale are liberal, and arc as follows. "Sect. G. Every purchaser of any lot or lots shall, at the time of making such purchase, pay into the hands cf the agent, one fifth part of the purchase money, the residue to be paid in lour annual instalments ; the purchaser in all cases to have a discount at the rate of 8 per cent, per annum, for prompt payment on any instalment, for all monies paid for the purchase of lots." " Sect. 10. It shall be the duty of said Agent to attend (he sale of the lots as directed by the preceding sections of this act, receive all monies that may be paid into his hands fur the purchase of lot in said town, and give the necessary acquittances therefor, give certificates to purchasers of lots in said town, describing the lot so purchased, the date of such sale, the amount paid in hand, the amount of each instalment, ami the time they severally become due, and should not said instalments be punctually paid on the day thev become due, the said Agent shall charge interest at the rate of six per ccr.f. per annsm from the date of such certificate, until paid: and when the payments are completed', the said agent is hereby authorised aud required to make such purchaser or his legal representative a deed iu fee simple in behalt of the State of Indiana. Sect. 12. Should any purchaser or purchasers, his, her, or their legal representatives, fail to complete their payincuts within three months after the last instalment becomes due oa any lot or
lots, the said lot or lots are hereby declared forfeited, and the agent U hereby authorised to take possession thereof in the name of the state, and 6hall proceed to advertise the said lot or lots, again for sale, giving three months public notice in some newspaper printed in this state of such sale. Provided, that the original purchaser may at any time previous to such sale redeem such lot or lots by paying up all arrearages and costs of advertisement." Law of Indiana , app. Cfi Jen. 1821. BURLINGTON. WILL be exposed at Public Sale, cn Thursday the ICth day of August next a number of lots in the towuof BURLINGTON, the Seat of Justice for Green county, Indiana. Burlington is handsomely situated on the East bank of White River, four miles below the conflux with Eel River in a fertile and well watered country! abounding with abundance of excellent mill streams, several of which are already improved; and will, at no distant period be the grand emporium for the idjaccnt country. Immediately opposite Burlington, on the West side, is a beautiful country, abounding with extensive prairies, well adopted to the aorj. cultural interest, and which will, afo distant day, produce an abundance of gram, &c. tor exportation down White Iliver. Adjoining the town, on the East Side, is a fertile and well-wooded country covered with the most valuable Kinds ot timber necessary for the improvement of a town; and there is likewise abundance of Stone Cual and excellent building Rock. Few situations in the stats offer more inducements to the actual settler or speculator, as the country is rapidly filling Up with the best kind of population.
