We thinl: the following intelligence entitled to credit ; and Jure strong hopes that the reign of Ferdinand is ended that king-craft and priest-craft ore c -rUirned in Spain, and that the cursed INQUISITION is uprooted forever. These are our hopes, and it' they are realised, the eT?.ctfrili be of mighty importance to the world. PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 28. Important I . .REVOLUTION IN SPAIN I . f?r-im the Journal of Captain Ramborger, arrived iu Philadelphia in 45 days from Cadiz. Revolt cf the Spanish Jlrmu !
On the 3d of 'January, the news came t
Trcm the "Eoifeore Teierath. We yesterday issued a haudbill, containing the intelligence received at Philadelphia by the Medora, captain Remborger, from Cadiz. A brother editor declares he places little or no reliance upon this intelligence. But, knowing captain Remborger to be one of the most respectable of his profession, we think otherwise; and that this oppressed people have at length nerved the arm to resist the ill treatment they have so long suffered under a priest-ridden tyrant, and so far as their vicwsvare honorable we wish them success; and trust that from their firmness may result the complete establishment of the independence of South America, without the pretended co-operation of those picarooons who have the temerity to clabs themselves with real patriots.
WASHINGTON CITY, Feb. 20. Maine and Missouri.
The question which has so long been agitated in Congress, and throughout the country, approaches the crisis of its decision ; and notwithstanding the feeling which prevails, we hara yet some hope that it will be amicably settled. It is 'seldom that the Senate of the United States is as much agitated as it was yesterday. The subject is now committed to-a conference between the two hou-
