HAVING seen an advertisement

J onathan Babeock's in the7 Centinel of last week, cautioning all persons against paving anv money due him, to EDWARD BURCM in consequence of that advertisement I think it necessary to inform those interested that there was a partnership existing between Jonathan Babcock 'and myself, (which can be proven,) and I hereby caution all persons against paying to him or any person in his name any debts due lor Groceries or Liquors, as there has never been a settlement of the concern, which I have repeatedly requested him to. do, anil do not wish to receive any money due to him in his indivdual concerns, or that which is due us jointly, until we have settled. By the above named advertisement, and by the representations which he has made of rae, I believe it was his intention to injure my character, which he has perhaps sucecded in, but I will leave it to the public to judge.
