Sr. E. M. Smith. The following letter from brother Goodwin speaks for itself: IsDiAXArous, Seft. 2G, 18T0. Mr. BlXfiHAM. I learn that Dr. E. M. Smith, a Magnetic physician of this city, will visit Brook ville next Saturday, 1st, and B'ay two or three days at the Valley Hue: Dr. Smith is a gentleman, and in his line of practice a success, lie does not profess to work miracles, but he does perform some wonderful cures. He has rendered signal relief in several cases in my family within the last eighteen months. In nervous dieaes, rheumatism and other chronic complaints he often renders permanent relief instantly. Tus philosophy of his treatment is inexplicable, yet after ail I guess we know as much aiout it as we do about the philosophy of the influence ol quinine upon ague. Command him to the altl.c ed. T. Pettengill & Co., whose great Advertising Agency, established in 1819, is one of the lar. gest and most reputable in the world, find that their extensive business requires their exclusive attention, and they therefore transfer Hearth and Home to the new publishers, whose long experience and abundant facilities will enable
them not only to maintain the past high char- i acterof the paper, but to add materially to its I value. The new Publishers also announce a! reduction of the" terms to $3 oer year. The change will not at all affect the American AgiCuliurist, which will continue on independent as heretofore. Tbe Illustrations and reading matter of the two journals will be entirely different.
