Doings of the Commissioners. We give our readers a synopsis of a portion of the doings of tbe Board of Commissioners of this County during tbeir session just closed,
and will furnish a Bjnopsis of the balance next week. Liquor licenses were granted to' tbe following named persons for the term of one year, to wit :' John Altber, in Butler Township. Louis Federman, in the town of Brookvrlle, Adam Felz, do do " ' Andrew Met-zger, do doGeorge Metzger, do. do Jos. Armstrong, in the town of Metamora. Kufus Harper, do do Jacob Schuck, in the town of South Gate. Theodore Schuck, do dcr Thomas Scofield, in the town of Laurel. In tbe matter of the petition of Elmer Hiatt and Others, report of viewers was confirmed and road ordered to be opened. In the matter of Joseph S. Todd and others, report confirmed, change of road and vacation ordered. In the matter of S. R. Elwell and others, viewers appointed failed to report, and reviewers appointed to view and report at next term. In the matter of Francis Grim me and others, viewers reported, and there not being the number required by law to report, reviewers were appointed to report at next term. In the matter of James Logan and others, report of viewers confirmed, and change and vacation of highway ordered. The letting of painting the outside of Coort House and Cupola, also the letting of building of the abutments and pier of Bridge across the East Fork of White Water River at or near the crossing of the turnpike leading from Brookville to Fairfield, wij take place at a special session of the Commissioners on the 12th day of July, l&oD, Medal awarded to "Barrett's." Why this is, 1 am unable to tell, unless it is because we are too lazy and indolent to write. Blooming Grove is improving of late. After taking a vitrei' the town, the young folks hired the inusi cians and retired to a beautiful grove adjoining, where they partook of a sumptuous dinner whicil was prepared by the ladies; al.erwards having a social picnic. After spending about hve hours in ibis pleasant maimer, we started back on our journey, arriving home well pleased with our excuriin. Pic Nic at Laurel. A GYafi j Pic Nic and Cotillion Party will be eld at Beggs' Grove, Laurel, Ind., July 3rd, 1869. The grounds on which the Pio Nic will be hell are known by all acquainted with them to be situated in the most beautiful grove in the White Water Valley, and the Committee have spared no labor or expense to improve their beau ty and prepare them for the occasion, Tbe services of a fine String Band have been secured, and complete facilities in the way of Refreshments ie. will be afforded for enjoyment and luxury. Gifford's Hall will be the scene of the Evening Ball. The Hall will be decorated in the most beautiful snd fantastic manner. Refreshments will be served, and nothing will be left undone on the part of the Committee to make the occasion brilliant and festive. A Velocipede Race is also expected to take place on the grounds. Half-fare arrangements have been made with the Valley Railroad, and trains run so that parties living on any part of the line can arrive early and return home late in the evening.
