The Brookville College. It is with pleasure that wa are ab! to state that this Institution is in the most prosperous condition. President Martin ie deservedly very popular, not only with the students, but among the people generally, and devotes his entire energies to the welfare of the atudenta placed ander bis charge. Of the balance of the Faculty Profs. Croach and John, and Miss Nwkirk and Iirouse we cannot apeak in too mach praise. They all stem to Lave the welfare of the lustitotion and of the students at heart, and spare no pains or labor io the divcharga of duty. Such an Institution as Ibis, with such a Faculty, ie a blessing to the community, and w are pleased to state that it is beginning to be appreciated. The Music Department, under the charge of Miss Uroute, we learn is satisfactorily man aged, and that through her tact and akill her students oiak rapid progress. There are now io the College about one bun dred and twenty students, young men and la dies, aud wo presume the number will soon reach two hundred, ae il ahoulj. The atudenta in attendance are noted for sobriety, intrlli fence and industry, and. seem to appreciate their ad-antages. Many of tba young ladies board In tbo Institution with the President, others in private families. The President always looks after ibeir iatereits in securing boarding places in families noted for morality and Christianity, and consequently parents need Lava no apprehensions in regard to sending their eons and daughters to this College. The debt under which the Institution has bean so long groaning haa been entirely re. moved by the liberality of tb people and the energy of the Trustees, and with the conitnu anc of the present management wa may reasonably hope for great prosperity for (be school and asefuln to the community.
