A walk 00 Saturday morning to tba scene of the recent smash-up at Little Cedar Bridge, rerenJed st frightful "stataof affairs. IJndge gone four freight care in the creek, one lying on its side, one bottom upward, and all badly ehahered bridge timbers, 4c, scattered in all directions. There is a curve in tba road at tbo bridge, nod it seems that the third car ran off the track just before reaching the bridge, striking the brae log, knocking it apart, and thus letting down the bridge. Tho locomotive, tender and first (freight) car passid over, tbo latter lodging on the opposite abutment; the next four cars tumbled into the creek ; but tho fifth (freight) and the hindmost (passen ger) car both remained on this side uninjured. It is a great wonder that no one was Lurt or killed. Two of the cars in the creek contained staves, one contained rags, and tho other was loaded with corn, all of which was safely removed. These cars will bave to be taken all to pieces in removing them. None of the trucks were injured. The bouse of the late Capt.'Jsmes Osborn, in Butler Township, was recfeutly destroyed by fire, together with its contents. A defective floe was supposed to have been the cause of the fire. , Soldiers' Monument. A petition signed by 250 of ilia citizens of Decatur county was presented to the County Commissioners at the recent session, asking that ao appropriation be made for the erection of a suitable monument to the memory of the soldiers of the County who lost their lives in defense of their country in the late civil war. Everybody hailed the commencement of the long wished-for opening of this lirect road to the Hailroad Depot, but their expectations bare suddenly subsided. Religious Revival. Tbo two Methodist and the Baptist Cburcbrs of Ureensburg are enjoying revivals. At tho Centenary up to Tuesday of last week theie were sixty probationers as tbo result of tbo meetings.
