On Thnrsda; of last week, Mrs. McN'eely, sisWi ot George Stewart of this Township, with whom iie resided, was burned to death uoder the, followiog-circumstances: She was going .to the sogar-camp, taking with her soma shvin;; and lire, hon ber clothing accidental!; became ignitaJ, and although aha sought by rolling upon the ground and in the mud and water to extinguish the flimat, she was unable to do so, and when found, her clothing was almoil entirely consumed, and her body scorohod aod burned horribly. She survivo J but a short time.' - - Serious Accident. Mr. John Jones met with an accident on Monday of this week which came nigh resulting fatally. He was felling trees, one of whicn ia descending struck another, bending it over tome distance, and as it returned with a rebound, a large limb was thrown off, which struck him upon the ahoulder, crushing him to the earth and rendering him senseless for some time. .Although badly bruised, be now seems in a fair way for recover.

The bouse occupied by Mr. James Shaw was entered by thieves on Saturday night last, who found their way to the sleeping room of Mr. Joseph Anderson of Rush County, wlio was a boarder, taking from under his bed a trunT containing some money and many valuable papers. The trunk was taken to a vacant house and the money abstracted. The papers left consisted of notes, mortgages, Ac, among which was a check on a batik in Indianapolis for tsOO.
