Storing Potatoes. The following results obtained

by my plan of storing, m:ty prove

useful:!. Twelve sacksful of

potatoes, lifted October 25th,

1853, stored with lime, the lime

being placed in small bundles in the center of ench 6ack.

Tubers all preserved; whereas some of tho potatoes stored without lime were much affected. 2. Fifty bushels of potatoes

dug up toward tho end of October, were pitted with three bushels of quick-lime, tho latter being

placed at tho bottom of the pit

and covered over with a thick

layer of gorse. On opening tho pit, it was found that tho diseased tubers did not amount to more

than two dozen. Tubers stored in tho ordinary wuyt in pits without lime, quito untouched by tho disease. G Roots 6torcd in a largo chest or box, with lime, and tho latter being placed in n small clothes-basket und covered with faggots. On opening tho box tho tubers were found quito healthy, whilo somo that had

been kept in cellar, without limo, wero much diseased. 7. .Twenty
