enjoyed, I have concluJed that a short notice of its happy results would be pleasing toall who rejoice in the prosperity of our Zion. The only preachers present wereBro. A. Gage, Father bt. John, and the writer. Klght sermons were delivered dur- ! ing the meeting. Jour by Bro. Gage, three by the writer, and one by Father St. Jjhn. Bro. G. was a stranger to our friends, but he will be so no more. They were well pleased wilh him as a man and a minister. His labors among us will be remembered with pleasure and felt with proßt. Indeed, Br. G.isa fluent speaker, who ha a clear head and a warm heart. For some years he has been laboring extensively in the'sunny South." Now he seems disposed to settle in the West, if our brethren in a suitable location call for his services. We sine erely hope that some of our destitute Societies in this State will be active in their exertions to obtain him for a pastor. Our meeting on Ssturday was very well attended by devout hearers. And as the weather was delightful, we were led to anticipate a prent gathering of the faithful on the Sahbntli. But we had to suffer disappointment in conse?quenceof the rain, which continued to la 1 during the forenoou. This prevented many of our brethern Irom a distance from being with us. However the house was completely filled with attentive souls, who appeared richly to enjoy the "glorious Gospel." After the close of the sermon on Saturd.iv afternoon, an invitation was given to cny who desired to unite with the Church, to present themselves before thi altar.
