0r Secernm Fair. The second annus J Fair of the Rush

To say that the attempt to establish an Apricnltiiml k.;. .- Rush county had been a successful nno ven eminent! v successful a five HI a?emint i Aa r .K- j r that fact which the exhibition of last week presented. There were about two acres of ground enclosed, and the whole , was' durng part of the first, and a" second and third days, a solid masaot people there being; scarcely room for the crowd to bestow themselves comfortably, to say nothing of the business transaction of the Society. Of r erowd we most be permitted to ' ' "".e eun does not shine - ct no larger than Rush ' V out a larger crowd of er dressed, more inJi.e and orderly peoi" lu tspreseht during the second and third days of our Fair. This was remarked by many. That the establishment of this Society has had a powerful tendency to wake up our people to a proper appreciation of the advantages nature has thrown into their h.:l!ils. and to a detprminntmn l . -
iniprovethem they deserve, there can I oe no doubt. wan had ever before been owned here 1 here appears to be a new life infused into the industry of the county, and a universal spirit of emulation that must and will accomplish wonders in a few years. The people, en masse, are ta king hold of the matter with a zeal and I for n earnestness that promises much ine luture ol Kusli. The array ol horses attracted universal admiration. There was exhibited! some as fine stock as can be found in the e speak this from the books. The number of entries quadrupled that oflast year. Several spans of fine matched horses were also exhibited. The Cattle entries, and the oualitv nf this description of stock, was very much superior to our last year's exhibition. Notwithstanding we had heard of many important purchases of fine cattle within the past year, this department was a great deal betler represented than we expected to see it, and many fine animals were not entered that belonged in the county. The exhibition of needle-work, quilts, &.C., was not as full as we could htrre wished, but was much better than last year. Of Vegetables, Fruit, Honey, Manufactures, &c, there was a very fine display in quality, but rather deficient in quantity. There was also a pood display of Architectural Drawing, Monochromatic Painting, Crayon Penciling, &c. But we cannot pretend to particularize. Taking the exhibition as a whole the crowd in attendance the unprecedented good order the array of stock and at tides on exhibition the short time the S ociety has been organized and we will put it against any countv fair that has been or will be held in the State this year. We throw up our hat, and propose three times three cheers for old Rush. Rush. Jacksonian. Provable Snicide. The Columbus Journal of Monday evening gives some particulars of a probnhls suicide of a young lady, Miss Helen Wilson, who lefthime on Saturday evening and has not been heard of since. On Sunday morning a letter was found in the yard of her grandfather, residing in the vicinity of Hayden's mill, written bv her, and inclosing her gold ear ornaments. She said she had been accused of improper conduct with some young man, that the charge was false, but that she could not live and lie under such an imputation. She gave directions about the dispositions of her clothes and ornaments, and said that her body would be found in the river near the bridge. Search was made, but the bodv net found. J. H. BURROW'S PATENT PLANTATION CORN MILL.
THIS Mill differs from all others In the eonstrnetion of the Upper or Runner Stone, which is composed of French Burr Blocks, enclosed in a cast iron case, which forms the back and hoop of me .-miit, wun a cast iron tye, or eusn, mat is or greater external diameter at the bottom than at the lop, which is secured at the back bv four bolls, so thatevery block is in the form ofa dovetail, which gives greater strength to a Stone, than anv other method which is required in small Mills where the Stone is run with great speed, and becomes dangerous if not strongly made. It also gives weight to aStone of small diameter that is required, without having it lhw.k or high, that makes it top heavy. This Mill is a square frame, made of w ood or cast iron, in the form ofa busk, with Rririo-e tre Si.in. die Balance, Riue.
