In support of what I have written, I

will state that Mr. Ullman, the present able manager of Madame Sontag has received formal propositions from Jenny Lind, to act as her agent in this country, and I understand that that gen leman has accepted thpm. It is his intention after finishing his engagement with Madame Sontag, to visit Europe, to select a troupe to support Jenny Lind during her stay in this country. The programme of her arrangements in the United States will be to visit New York first, and after giving a number of favorite operas here, she will then make a tour of all the principal cities in the Union. I alluded above to the domestic difficulties of Jenny Lind. These, I am informed upon the most reliable authority, exist and are still becoming of the most serious and unpleasant nature. Shortly after the honeymoon, some trifling misunderstanding occurred between her

Death of Geerfe Vryharger

One of our wealthiest and most in,

fluential citizens, has been called to his final rest. George Frtbarger of this place, died at his residence, on Saturday

morning, the 26th inst-, after a brief but painful illness. Mr. Frybarger was well known throughout this s "ction of the country as a successful merchant. He came to this place about thirty years ago

a poor but industrious young man, and entered into the mercantile businsess. By his perseverance, economy and strict attention to business he accumulated a large amount of money and property ,and has left to each of his children a consid

erable fortune. For several years he has been extensively engaged in pork packing; and at the time of his death was president of the Bank of Connersville.

His loss will be felt by the communi

ty. Having been engaged in various

kinds of business, he gave employment

to mechanics and laborers, and did as

much as any other man towards building

up the town of ConnersvilleBastneas. Our side -walks are now filled with boxes and barrels, many ofthe merchants

having received their spring supply of

goods. Goods will be sold cheap this spring, notwithstanding the high, prices

the merchants hare been compelled to

pay in order to get them here. They

have all been vagoned from the city Fire.

A fire broke out on Friday morning,

in a short at the unner end of town. It

was soon extinguished. No material damage was sustained, A BEAUTIFUL COUPLET. The path of aororw, and that path alone. Leads to tht land where aorrow ta unknown.
