Constantly driven with field work, it seem? time wasted whenever they devote a day to such small business as working a garden; particularly if it contains anj thing more ornamental than a cabbage patch, a row of early corn, a neglected corner of weeds and potatoes, in about equal proportions, or a small bed o! peas, about which there is often a little scolding when they need hushinsT. If there U an asparagus bed. or a few pie-plant roots, or perhaps a row of currants the male part of the household, as a general thin?, are entitled to hut little credit for them.

as most larmersare gmlty ot.th-. re is no excuse. For occasional neglect in very busy seasons of the year, want of time may be pleaded; but that does not held good in winter. '-In winter"' exclaims one who never did anything to-day he could put of till to-morrow; '-what can we do about a garden in winter!"' We answer, much very much.
