The State Free Poll Convention was in session yesterday with Andrew L. RobinBon of Evansvillo in the chair. We noticed in attendance George VV. Julian, 8. S. Harding, M. R. Hull and other distinguished advocates of Freesoihsm. Delegates were appointed to attend the National Convention to be held at Cleveland on the first Wednesday in August. Of the delegates chosen, we heard meutloned the names of A. L. Robinson, S. C. Stevens, J. P. Milliken, J. II. Cravens, S. S. Harding, Geo. W.Julian, a t " r,Hull T,d Butler- John B. Semans. , L- Ellsworth, E. B. Crocker, and several leaser lights. Resolutions were adopted in opposition to the fugitive Slave Law, and the 13th article of the btate Constitution; favoring the freedom of the public lands; declaring that the Anti-Slavery party is not a sectional prty, but for th- Unien ; and asserting that the Democraticand Whig parties, h?d outlived the measures which brought them into existence.and that they were mere factions. The following nominations were made. ForGovernor.A. L. Robinson.of Vanderburch co. "

From the Rushville Republican. TIc Celebration. The Odd Rellows' celebration passed off very pleasantly. More than two hundred members o f the Order joined in the procession, and its appearance, with the rich regalia of the members was imposing. The Cambridge City Band at the head or the Subordinate Lodges, and the Milton Band at the head of the Encampments, "discoursed sweet music" as the procession moved

in rough several ot the princioal street r ...

village. Both Bands did justice to the occasion. Arrived at the stand, after an impressive and eloquent prayer from the Rev. Bio. G. W. Taylor, Gen. Pilcher of Louisville Kentucky, delivered an able address to a large, attentive and intelligent audience. His speech abounded in novel and bold ideas and was listened to with marked attention. In regard to the vocal music with which the exercises were interspersed, we heard but one opinion rmrrnul nA tk.t :

cellent admirable. We heard several good judges speak ing of it in high terms of commendation. The young ladies and gentleman who constituted the choir upon that occasion, we are assured, have the thanks of the Brotherhood at this place for the important service which they performed. We have never seen a better behaved audience any where, and visitors could not have been otherwtae than favorably impressed with the character of the population of our county, judging from the conduct and bearing of those who were present on that occasion.
