Here and there might be seen individuals in the rt agonies, of excising nature, unknown and appi'ently unnoticed. There was no or. fcr of sympathy to albviate in the least their misery. Their companion appeared dejected and weighed d'twn with their own sorrow. My heart eickeng at the remembrance of that awful scene. They speak an entirely different language, Mrs. B. says lor the tribes in the region of Liberia, are at the distance of many hand red miles from the place of their nativity. Rev. Mr. Burns, who edits the Circular sits: We were at the beach at the time of tbe re-captives' landing from the hold of the slave-ship. The poor creatures, many of whom must, to all appearance .soon be added to the number of tbe dead, were most truly objects of commisseralion. As they neared the shore and were permitted te leap into tho surf that rolled upon lbs beach, they plunged from the sides of the boat intotbi ciol, grateful water in such a manner as clearly enough to show that it afforded a pleasure not to.be descilcd after so horri. hie a captivity. They were emaciated, scarred, and many of them covered with sores or scabs. The circular contains powerful appeals to the christian public for help It coochides in these words. Proiesscd lovers of Africa and the Liberia Mission! have you inquired for motives. fer moving incident, to inspire you with, and prompt you to, benoveleuc towards Africa? your inquires ought now to be con sidered at an end. Have you asked for proper subjects of your benvo!ence? you need ask no more; God. in his providence, has thrown upon their own shores, but within ths reach of your liberality, up wards of 700 poor, emaciated, destitute hu nsn beings- They look up impleringly to the christain world for an aven game at ol the.r wrong. But ths weapous of your warfare should not be carnal; you are not lo render evil for evil. The condition the phyaieal, mental aad spirtual condition of the sufferers, sks you for the mesas with which they may he jejothei and fed it asks you fjr schools for teachers and for tbe BfBL. Wht say you Will you, through tbe above lettcie. come and look oq their wants, and theq pass on, leaving them to the charity aud benevolence, on others!. The resolution of tins queetion rests with you, but the final account with God. Act with decision and promptness holding that account in view.
Upon the arrival of the 6lavc, a special meeting was immediately called to see what could be done by the Mission. Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry! WILL MIR.KLES SEVER CEASE? MORE EVIDENCE OF ITS SURPJSS1NU HEALTH REST0RJT1V VIRTUES ! From Dr- Bake, Springfield, Washington c. Ky SpnugneM, ky. May 14, 1845. Messrs. Sanford & Park. Gems 1 take this opportunity of informing you of a most remarkable cure performed upon me by the use tif 'Dr. Wistar's Balsam of Wild C herrv In the vear lS4i I was taken with an inflamation of the bowels which I labored under for six weeks w.'ien I gradually recovered. Ia the fall of 1841 I was attacked with a severe cold, which st ated itself upon my lungs and for tbe space of three years I was con ned to my bed. I tried all kindsof medicine, and eve ry variety of medical aid without benefit; and thus I wearied along until the winter 1844, when I l.card if "Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry." M frund- persuaded roe 10 given it a trial, inouga was irulv astonishinr. After Five ueart of affliction. pain and suffering; and after havine spent sf or five hundred dollars to no for pose, aud the best and most respectable physicians had proved availing, I was soon restored to' entire health by the blessing of God aud the use of Dr. Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cher'i am now enjoying good health, and sveh is my altered appearenee that I ara na longer known when I meet my former acquaintances. I have gained rapidly in weight, and my flesh is firm and solid I can now eat as much as any person, and my food seems to agree with me. I have eaten more during the last six months than I had eaten five years before. Considering my ease almost a miracle, I deem tt necessary for the good of the afflicted, and a duty I owe to the proprietors and my fellow men (who should know w here relief may be hadj lo make this statement pub'ic. May the blessings of God rest upon the proprietors of so valuable a medicine as Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherrv. Yours repectfully, W M. H BARER. (CJThe following letter from Doctor Ritchey, of Franklin, Ind. who stands high in his profession, and ranks among the first politicians of the State, shall speak for itsefl in commendation of the 'Genuine Wistar's of Wild Cherry. Franklin. Ind.. April 14. 1845. Messrs. Sanford & Park I have but a few bottles of Wistar's balsam of wild chery remaining on hand of the last lot furnished me oy you. I nerctoiore waueu until I sold out and had obtained the money for one lot before 1 ordered another. Bnt such is the demand for the article that I do not wish to be witho'ut'tt,"and am therefore led to anticipate a little. The monney for the last lot shall be forthcoming by the tiracthe lot is disposed of, which, from the sales I have made lately, I think will be but a short time. The effects of the balsam are in many eases strikingly beneficial. OCT improves upon acquaintance more than any ether Patent Medicine I have ever known. TQ Almost all others fail upon trial, and not 'being able to bear the test of experience, soon sink into disuse. This, however, seems to be most highly valued by those Wljo have tested its virtues and experienced its healing cacy in their own cases. Yours very respectitully, 1 JAMES RITCHEY. Price 91 per bottle. Sold by SANFORD fit PARK, Korth-east corner or roiirt ana vtsinut sis. The genuine article is'kept for sale by R. Ac S Tyner; Brookville. E. Tyner ft Co.; Metamora. M. w. Mor. risi Blooming Grove. Hall 4. Hughes; Csnnersville. - E. E. Fuller: Harrison. Z. A. Nye; New Trenton. January 30th, 1846. Mm. All Invitation CJt-'MMER has ended, and Autumn is rone by. The s husbandman is blessed with an abundant crop, and health is returning with its usual chei rfnlness and comtot. The commercial men are offering liberal prices for all the products of the year, and tbe farmer is hasting td the market with ilia surplus. A degree of prosperity is all over the land, and tbe means nf payment are within thereach of almost every mm.-. Who that is in debt will not avail himself of this auspicious time to make payment? There it no time so easy of payment as waen the cash is on hsnd, and when a debt is paid there is release from the obligation, and an end to the principal and interest. Interest is an eating ninth, and it ia better now to make an effort to pay off the debt than to put it off to a snbaeq, nent time, as we know not what changes may come upon the country, or what adversity may befal ourselves. These remarks are respectfully addressed to all my patrons, and especially to those who have owed me for a long time. N. D. GALLION.
