The following is from R. C. Langdon, formerly editor of the Trey Times, in relation to BurdsaFs extract of Sarsaparilla"It is a valuable medicine. I have tried it thoroughly and can bear ample testimony to its good effects in my own person. I have for several years been the subject of violent diseases, acute pains in the limbs, c, and verily believe the free use of Sarsaparilla was the principal remedy that performed the cure." For further evidence of its efficacy, reference is made to the following Physicians, who have prrtcribed il teith every success in their practice: Dr. Stephen Bonner, Dr. Charles Woodward, ' Wm. There has never appeared a medicine which, while it can do no harm, is calcu-

The obstruc tion or insensible Perspiration is the cause of a great proportion of human suffering. l nese pills possett the power, in an extra ordinary degree, of removing all obstruc tions, and healthful circulation. 1 bey must undoubtedly supersede, all other pur gative medicines, as they have a four-fold action viz.- a dischaige by the Bowels, Lungs, Kidneys, and Skin. Children will not hesitate to take them and they may be relied on, beyond any other remedy, as an effectual and safe med icine for Worms, and all complaints inci dent to children. More childrea have been cured in New York the preseLt year, by the use of Dr- Smith's Pills, than all oth er medicines combined as there is no need of forcing them down, like other medi cines. DYSPEPSIA OF TEN YK.VRS STAND1NO The Wife of Captain Roberts, on Vine street, near Water, Cincinnati, has been altlicted with dyspepsia in its most aggravated form, for the last ten years .She was recommended by celebrated physicians of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Cincinnati to travel, as they could do nothing for her. She did so, but it done her no good. She then commenced using the most popular medicines of the day for her complaint, but derived no benefit from their use. Seeing an advertisement of Dr, Smith' Sugar Coated Vegetable Pills in the papers, she concluded to give them a trial. She sent to G. F, Thomas, Main Street, between Third and fourth street, Dr. Smith's Agent for Cincinnati, and purchased a box, took them according to direction, and can with heartfelt joy state that she derived more benefit from the use of one box of Doctor Smith's Sugar .Coated Vegetable Pills than from all other' medicine she baa ever made use of for the las ten years. The above was sent to G. SHERJLiJCS WORM LOZENGES Thousands upon thousands have gone down to premature graves from Marasmus, or a wasting away of the body, Epilepsy, Fits, Lt. Vitus' Dance, Locked Jaw, Apoplexy, Mania, Dropsy in the Head. Palsy. Consumption, Pleurisy, Dysentary, Con vulsions, and many other supposed appa rent diseases; and many have suffered for yearsjand years, and have been doctored for some imaginary complaint without the least relief; and others are still suffering, when all the trouble rises from Worms, and worms alone, w hich are entirely overlook ed, and when the proper treatment would have eaved their lives and restored them to health. Every observant mother cannot but see and admit the truth; but still many phy sicians shut their eyes to that all important cause of disease. Capt. E. F. Weld, of the brig Lavinia, of the port of New York, was complaining for a long time with a pain and uneasiness in his bowels, dullness, headache, palpitation, lowness of spirits, a constant disposition to yawn and stretch himself. From reading Doctor Sherman's description of the symptoms of worms, ha thought they answered to his case, and'accordingly took a dose of Sherman's Worm Lozenges, which brought away a tape worm 171 feet long. That one dose cured him. He never goes to sea without a full supply of Sherman's Lozenges, and says he wants no other medicine chest. 'I CAN'T SLEEP!!" Says one, "my cough is so incessant, it seems as though I would choke to death." If be would only use Sherman's Cough Lozenges he would be cured in a short time. They often cure the most distressing cases in a few hours. The Hon. Mr. Archer U. S. Senator of Virginia was cured of a cough that threatened to terminate in consumption, by onlyone small box. He had suffered much from the frequent attacks of coughing, and could get but little rest, r"ay or night, until he used those Lozenges. He could hardly believe that medicine could operate so quick and efficiently, especially when it tasted so pleasant. .r. O- T. Matthews suffered a year with a hard, tight cough, pain in the side, spitting of blood, and all the usual symptoms of consumption. The Lozenges relieved him immediately, and in a few weeks restored bim to perfect health. He says they are the greatest cough medicine in the world. JJESSER TA TIOJV OJV DSEASES INDUCED BY WORMS. nw diseases to which the human body is liable, are better entitled to the attention oi the parent or philanthropist than those consequent on the irritation of worms on the stomach and bowels. When the sufferer is an adult, the case is very frequent ly ovenooKea.ana, consequently, the prop er remedy is not applied. But when the paueiii is an infant, it the disease is not entirely neglected.it is still, too frequent by, ascribed in whole or part, to someoth er cause. It ought here to be particularly remarked, that although but few worms ay exist in a cnua s Dowels, and bow qui escent soever they mar have been, nrevi ously, no sooner is the constitution invaded by any of the numerous train of diseases to to wbich infancy is exposed, than it is fear fully augmented by their irritation. The following letter, recently received by the proprietors of this invaluable mediicine.will be read with interest by alleimilarly afflicted. Baltimore, June 10, IS45. Messrs Sands Gents: Most cheerfullv do I add to the numerous testimonials of your life preservative Sarsaparilla. I was attacked in the year 1339 with a scrofulous affection on my upper iip, and continuing upward taking hold of my nose and surrounding parts, until the passage for convevintr tears from the eye to the nostril were destroyed, which caused an unceasing flow of tears, it also effected my gums, causing a discharge very unpleasant, and my teeth became so loose that it would not have been a hard task to pull them out with a slight jerk such were my feelings at ibis lime that I was rendered perfectly miserable i consulted the first Physician in the city, but with little benefit. Every thing I beard of was tried, but all proved of noservice, and as a last resort was recommended change of air; but this, like other remedies, did no good; the disease conliuued graduall to increase until my whole body was affected. But thanks to humanity, my Physician recommended your preparation of Sarsaparilla, I procured from your acnt in this city, Dr, Jas. A. Reed, 6 bottles; and in less time than three months nas restored to health and happiness. Your Sarsaparilla alone effected the cure, and with a desire that the afflicted may no longer suffer, but use the right medicine and bo free from disease, with feelings of joy and gratitude I remain your friend, DANIEL McCONNl K AN. Anyone desiring to know further particulars will find me at ray residence in Front street, where it will afford ma pleasare to communicate any thing in relation to this cure. DANIEL McCONNlKAN. Personally appeared before me the above named Daniel McConnikan, and made oaih of the facts connected in the foregoing statement JOHNCLOLD, Justice of Peace of the City of Baltimore. New-Brunswick, N. J., Sep. 25, IS43. Messrs. Sands Gentlemen lean speak from a very gratifying personal experience of the great value of your preparation o Sarsaparilla- For about nine months I suffered beyond expression from an attack of that Prosean and destroying disease. Neuralgia, by which I was rendered incapable of attending my ordinary employment-. For months I waa unable to write a line or hold a pen, or convey food to my mouth; and such was my bodily distress, that to sleep, except in brief catches after extreme exhaustion, was impossible. The medica. treatment usual in this disease availed me nothing, and I was at last persuaded to try your Sarsaparilla. Before the second bottle was quite used, the disease abated. 1 continued to take it to the amount ofsix bottles and was perfectly relieved, and.I hope permanently no indication of a relapse having appeared yet. I belieue yoou have not claimed for your Sarsaparilla that it is particalarly adapted to the tormenting disease to which 1 was subject.- but I have no doubt it was the means of my reeovery, and should have no hesitation is recommending it to others who may be euffering from Neuralgia. The rationale of its success is, I think, not difficult of explanation. Q-Several metallic preparations, such as nitrate of silver and arsenic, have been much relied on in late years, but they failed in ray case. Respectfully, your friend and obedient servant, C. HOOVER. For further particulars and conclusive evidence of its superior value and efficacy, see pamphlets, wbich may be obtained of agents gratis. Prepared and sold, wholesale and retail, by A. B- 4- D.
