COUNTY MEETING. A meeting of the Whigs of Franklin County will be held at Brookville on Saturday May 10th, for tlie purpose of appointing delegates to a district convention, to nominate a Candidate for Congress A general attendance from all parts of the County is desired. Thewhigs of Franklin county do not wish lobe troublesome or captious in determining the time and place for holding the District Convention, and are willing to meet their brethren at almost any time and place for the purpose of selecting a candidate lor Congress in this District; yet
inasmuch as very many of the best farmers and business men in the county have business in the Probate Court, ar.d owin? to the fact that the Probate Court will be in session in most, if not all the counties in the District during the second week in May, it is thought that the 14th day of May would be an inauspicious day to hold the District Convention. And it is supposed that about the 10th day of June would be a proper day for that purpose, and would accommodate the people or the District as well if notbetier than any other period of time, and we have no objection to Lawrenceburgh as the place of holding the Convention. By order of the Executive Committee : April 30th, 1845. Jd" THOSE WHO COUNTERFEIT a good medicine for the purpose of adding a few dollars to their pockets, ire far worse than the manufacturers of spurious coin. For while the latter only rob us of our property, the former lake properly and health and .'il-away. Dr. Wistar's BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY is admitted, by thousands of disinterested witnesses, to have effected the most extraordinary cures ' in cases of a pulmonary and asthmatic character, ever before recorded in the h:stoiy of medicine. The giving, thsi beautiful, the good, all epeak forth its praise. It is now the r.vobite MtDiei e in theniost inteiiigenlfainilies of our country. Such a high stand in public estimation has been acheived by its own merits alone. And so Ion? as a discernms public are careful to Cet Wistar's BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY, ar.d refuse with scorn counterfeits, and every other article proffered to them as a substitute, so long will ceres positive cures cheer the fireside of many a despairing family. The suggestions of intelli- ! gont teachers who had used the for.ncr editions j of the series, and thi valuable aid afforded him in the revision by an experienced educator, have also furnished him with unusual facilities for advantageously revising and enlarging these works. In this scries, comprising as it docs, a careful selection of instructive, entertaining, and wrcJ matter, progressively arranged, and graduated with reference to the capacity of the pupil, Prof MeGufley has afforded to pareiA; and teachers, a most thorough, complete, and efficient auxiliary in the education of youth. Its extensive use ha been sufficient for tha development and just appreciation of its many excellencies. The result is, that intelligent teachers pronounce it the mat complete series now before the public. The intrinsic merit of Frof.
