MISCELLANEOUS. A HYMN. When morning pours its golden rays
O'er hill, and vale, o'er earth, and sea, My heart, unbidden, swells in praise, Father of light and life, to Thee. When night, from Heaven, steals darkly down And throws its robe o'er lawn and lea, My saidened spirit seeks Thy throne, And bows in worship still to Thee! If tempests sweep the angry sky, Or sunbeams smile on the flower and tree, If joy, or sorrow, dim the eye Father in heaven, I turn to Thee.
MEMENTO FROM CAMOENS. My son, be this thy simple plan, Serve God, and love your brother man; Forget not, in temptation's houryi That sin lends sorrow double power; Count life a stage upon thy way, And follow conscience, come what may; Alike with earth and heaven sincere, With hand and brow and bosom clear, "Fear God, and know no other fear."

Skin. Kidneys, and Bowels, thro' which all
useless and corrupt humors are expelled from
the system; these are the natural drains ot the
body; and so long as they are all kept open, ana discharge freely their allotted portions of itnpu
rity, the body will continue in neaim. uut
when, from eating improper food, Dreaming
impure air, over exhaustion, or any otner cause, these outlets become closed: the humors will
continue to accumulate, until the body is literally overflowing with deseaser
If the channels of our mighty rivers should become choked up, would not the accumulated waters find new outlets, or the country be inun
dated? Just so with the human body; if the
natural drains become closed, the accumulated
impurities will most assuredly find vent in
tsome form of disease, or death will be the cer-
ain conseauence.
