signal rebuke
Our members of the Legislature left yesterday evening, for Indianapolis. gneculators are endevouring to put down White Water Canal paper. They, or their friends it is probable, have to pay 6ome installment on their subscription to the company, and wish to buy in the paper at half price to pay their stock with.
Speculators are always ths first to assist in pet ting Euch paper in circulation, and then the first to refuse to receive it at its face. We wish the pub
lic to watch such men. Have nothing to do with them. They are living upon your honest industry. We see no reason why White Water paper is not a; good now as it was when these men were so snxious to give it credit. -

Grocery License. Some two years ago the citizens of Urookville and Posey townships peti
tioned the Board of Commisssioners of the county not to grant any person grocery license iu their respective townships for the term of three years. The Commissioners decided against the peliton of the citizens, granted A. B. Pratt of Brockville, tnd Daniels of Posey, license. The citizens appealed to tV-e Circuit Court, and there it was a-
gain decided against them. They then appealed to the Supreme Court. By yesterday's mail we learn that the Supreme Court has reversed the decUious of the Circuit and Commissioners Courts. Thus deciding that the petition of the citizens wa? good, and that all grocery licenses that have been issued in either township for the last two years are illegal, and consequently every man that has sold by less quantity than one quart is subject to be lr.dicted Icr ererj glass that he has sold. Let t Le keepers of the? e public unitances look out.
