RICHMOND BRANCH OF THE WHITEWATER CANAL. The Whitewater Canal, now in progress and nearly completed, has from the first been i learly seen to be nf grent consequence to Cincinnati. The Indiana portion of it is com-

Richmowl is a large and flourishing town on the National Road, in Wayne county. That county is robahly the most populous in Indiana, containing nearly thirty thousand inhabitant, of a stable, orderly and industrious character. The Branch Canal will.be about 30 miles in length, and will connect a
large portion of Wayne county, Indiana, and
Pruble county, Ohio, immediately with Cm
