There ia an originality of thought and bitterness of sarcasm, clothed with beauty and truth, ia his re mars a, not to be found in many or the long pro ey speech, which waste bo much time in our lev isiaturce and fill aomany columns of our paper, at the present day. The speech ot Gen. Long to which it ia in reply, we have never seen probably it bis never been published. For some yr we have waited with anxiety to tie time, when the people should require the services of Mr. Par ker in our Legislature or even more elevated sta tions. We shall still watch his career with in lean interest. He has the talents and energy to k of survice and an ornament to his country. We have also a peev-h on file, delivered in tLe Logtslatare by Sam!. Judah in reply to A two Lane. He is hjld iu change, and prompt in proof be scorches withont mercy and slays with a heavy band. Mr Fisher, the author of the report, tried to prevent the printing of all the testimony; but only so much, and of that kind, as would sustain the repot t. In this, however, lie was over-ruled, and all the testimony wns ordered to be minted. hat then must have been the surprise ofl memncrs, when the printed report was laid before them, to find that the printer, instead of printing all the testimony as ordered, had oniy printed the abstract made out by the clerk to the committee, and for the use of the committee t This despicable ttltk, however. can easily be accounted lor. 1 he authors ot the report well knew that if all Ihe tt stimonv should be allowed to go to the people along wiiu tne report, it would have been a complete and triumphant answer to that false document.
