This we have no doubt will be both ot profit and convenience to our citizens and the people in the surrounding country. At present our farmers when they bring any thing lo market, cither have to go around to our residences to dispose of their produce, or dispose of it to our merchants at whatever the? please to give. But if we had a market
house and regular market days, then the citizens of the place would know where to go to buy, and the farmer know where to sell. It is doscending so near the level with the contemptible occupation of pedlar, for the farmer to visit our resi
liences to sell their produce, that we do not wonder that we often have to pay more than the Cincinnati prices for marketing. Then let us have n market house, and endeavor to da business on a different plan.Corporalion Ordinances. Our citizens will recollect that the corporation ordinances of this place will be in force on Tuesday next. l.i.i RoyaVs Flag. The sensation treated in New York bv
Mr. Biddle's resignation, is thus referred lo in the Express o( Saturday, 2 P. M. 'The announcement that Mr. Biddle has resigned his post as President of the United States Bank, created a great deal of excitement in Wall street this morning. Crowds soon collected to learn the cause of the resignation. The impression at first was, that the resignation would have an unfavorable
influence on stocks. The letter, however, of
Mr. biddle to the Directors, on his resigning, soon became public; and when the fact was announced thai the Bank was left in great prosperity, and that Mr. Biddle only desired
repose !rom his labors, the public mind became quite relieved. Stocks instead cf falling, advanced. Even the stock of the Bank of the United States was sustained." Rait. Pal.

Just as she held the note to him, a puff of wind blew it into the roaJ, and carried it gently several yards from them. The discourteous knight alighted to overtake it, and the lady whipped her horse to get out of his power, when the other horse, who had been left standing by her side, started with her. His owner fired a pistol, which only tended to increase the speed of all paities, and the young lady arrived safely at home with tho horse of the robber, on
which was a pairofsaddlebasrs. When these

An old gentleman who had studied theological subjects rather loo much for the strength of his brains, detcrmind to try his luck in preaching, nothing doubling but that matter and form would be given him, without any particular prcperation on his own pait. Accordingly, on Sundayhe ascended the pulpit, sung and prayed, read his text, and stopped.
