An Ordinance defining the duties of the officers, protiding for the collection of taxes, and for other purposes, passed Mareh'Qd, 1839. Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the Presidentand truiteea of the Town of Brookville, That tlie

Ths clerk, treasurer, lister and collector tha'l each give bond and security, payub!e to the presidcut and trustees in the penal sum of six hundred dollars cadi, conditioned for the faithT'il discharge of their duties respectively, which bonds "shall be filed by the clerk; & and o;t failure to perform all or any part of the conditions of the said bonds, they shall be liable to pay lo the president and trustees aforesaid the full anion tit in arrcar together with full cost and ten per cent, damages thereon and six per cent, per annum on the whole nmount lecuvercd from the time the same should have been p iid over, until the day of payment; all which may be recovered upon motion before the circuit court, ten days previous notice having been given of such intended motion, and for all which. such court is required l give judgment agiinst such officer, unless he show satisfactory cause to the court why judgment should not be rendered against hi'ii, and upon which judgment, execution slwll be issued returnable In thirty days from the date thereof, without any stay on the same;
or upon failure lo perform all or any part of
the condi lions oi said bonds, the principals and securities, or anv or either of them shall be
proceeded against by suit upon their official bonds before any court hav ing competent jurisdiction thereof. Sec. -1. It shall be the duty of the clerk lo

It shall be the duly of the treasurer to receive all moneys due and accruing to the said presidentand trustees, to pay and dislure the same, on orders drawn by the said president and trustees, and signed by the Pres
ident and attested hy theclerk,and notothei-
wise. He shall keep a true and correct ac
count of nil moneys received and disbursed,
which shall at all times be open to inspection,
and lie shall, on the nrst Monday of Decern
her, and annunlU thereafter make a detailed
report of his receipts and expenditures during
the current year, exhibiting therewith his

The real property of any person ot residents or said town, or whose names are i iknown, shall be designated in the same assessment roll, but in a part thereof separate :- mthe other assessments.
