As he is well known in this county to be a true Yanite, we hope his admissions will be believed bv Van Buren's few and scattering adherents in the county: New York Flections. We have (o say, however much we regret the necessity, that New York has &one, so'il and body, for the Whigs. Out of l'JS members of Assembly the Whigs have only got a "coo hundred." At the request of a number of the Whig pat ty, we take the liberty of publishing a call for a general Convention of the Whig patty at Iudianapol.s on the First Monday in January next. It is known that the Whig party in Ohio, early last summer, held a convention at Columbus, and, after expressing a decided preference for Gen. Harrison, recommended a Nition tl Convention and agreed to abide by its decision. It is due to the noble Stale that its call should be responded to, and inas

much as the Ohio Convention propose to

hold the Naticual Convention on the 1st of

June next, it ts proper that a decision in reference to it, should be made as early as the time mentioned. Wc trust that this movement will meet lite approbation of the Whigs throughout the Stale that all the papers will immediately respond to the call, and that

public meetings will be held as early as possible to appoint Delegates; and we trust that the enthusiasm in the case of Whig principles will cause an imposing assemblage. FMno Citizens Should not, will nof'OW
