From the Cincinnati Caicltc of yesterday we learn, "the great conservative principle of credit, based upon property, to which the Whig party has adhered, and to which a n;iss of their opponents have recently declared their adhesion, has prevailed in the City cf NewYork, a:ul to a great extent in that Empire State. The associated Tammany and Loco-Toco ticket has been defeated in the City, by an average majority approaching THREE THOUSAND. The intell;g"!ice received from the surrounding anddjirent C unties is represented ae warranting the conclusion, that the majority of the House of Representatives w ill be whig. That body consists of 123 members, of which there were 34 whig members in the la:t Legislature. The Senate consists of JV2 members five only of which in the last legislatarc, ve,e whigs. 1: is not hoped to reform this body now." But what is more, and almost incredible, Mrs. Julia Jacobs is about 50 years old, and Mr. Green is her EIGHTH HUSBAND, all ofxehom are tiring, except one'.! The above wedding took place the same day in White-Water township, that tlieonedid which wc published in our last, and the ceremony performed by the same Justice. We ih some friend, in White-Water township, would furnish us, and the world, a history of the above named Julia Jacobs and how she has disposed of so many husbands!!
