As additional testimony of the eminent qualifications of General Harrison for the distinguished efiice of President of the United States, we give below an extract of a letter from the Hon. Amos Lane, to a gentleman of Urookville, Indiana, dated, Washington, February 8, 1S35. It is well known that Mr. Lane has heretofore been the warm and decided supporter of Gen. Jackson and his Administration; and the testimony which he here adduces, as to the fitness of Gen. Harrison for the Presidency, we deem entirely sufficient to convince even the most skeptical whether he belongs to the ''party" or not. In speaking of the electoral vote of Indiana, Mr. Lane says:

It is supposed to be unsurpassed in natural or artificial advantages by any town site wholly interior in the western country.' It is in the heart of Eastern Indiana, and in the richest and most populous county in the State, row containing' nearly 130,000 thriving and industrious inhabitants. In this neighborhood is raised a iarjfe amount of pork for the Cincinnati market,! of which last season, a single individual sold tu the value of 511,()Cti. This point must necessarily become the depot for the produce of an extensive district of very rich country; thence to be distributed by the C--inal, Ra.l Roads, and Turnpikes to various places on the Ohio.
