Immense Harrison Meeting. The great meeting heretofore mentioned as about being held in favor of Gen. Harrison, in Ross county, took place at Chillicothe, on the 26th ult. The number present, is represented as having been exceeding large. Duncan McArthur, Esq. late Governor of Ohio, acted as Chairman, and fourteen prominent citizens officiated as Vice Presidents, and five as Secretaries. The Preamble and Resolutions are spirited in the highest degree, and were enthusiastically adopted with entire unanimity. Meetings of this kind crowd so rapidly upon us, that we find it altogether impracticable to publish the tenth part of them. We shall.

however, at some subsequent period, endeavor to give place to a part of the excellent res

We have always understood from Gen. Harrison :hit if he was elected, that he would not be a can-i-.iitefora Second Term, and we now have his :'.edg that he will not. The Cincinnati IntelliC?ncer says "Repeated conversations with the Unml upon the subject has enabled us to state without equivocation, that no circumstances would vice him to serve for a longer period than one Term,' and that "he will never prove recreant to principles upon which he is elected." In the ,r.iirg canvass we wish it recollected that he is ;:!v towrve for one term; therefore, will have no Secernent to use the patronage of the Government ts t means of securing his second election, but will ni in eye singly fixed upon administering the

LATER FROM ENGLAND. By the Liverpool packet ship Nnpolean, Capt. Smith which arrived at this port on Sunday, we have Liverpool dates of the 21th ult. and London of the 22d ult. They contain intelligence in the highest degree interesting to every friend of the human rights and liberal principles. In the House of Lords the Municipal Corporation Bill has been amended, and the house of Commons have, in retaliation, refused to grant the annual supplies to the Crown! This is unquestionably a crisis more momentously interesting than any which has occurred in English politics since" the revolution that brought Charles to the block. How the Lords will get out of their dilemma remains to be seen in the sequel. JW Yorker. France. Public attention in France appears to be entirely absorbed by the new measure of the Government in relation to the freedom of speech and the press. We published the bill entire in our last, from which our readers may see the dangerous lengths which Louis Phillippe and his infatuated advisors have determined on going. These high-handed and despotic measures meet every where, as they deserve, a most tremendious opposition. The revolution of Julv was produced by measures scarcely more obnoxious than the present. They are still violently discussed in the Chambers. .Vac Yorker.
