Dr. Connelly was transacting business at Edinburg Holiday. Misses Bertie and Tessie McComas are visiting at Shelby ville. G. W. Drake has sold his store at Lewis Creek to Mr. Morris. Oscar Carter has moved in with his fathcr-in-law, John Nail. Will Ensley attended the jollification at Hope Saturday night. Wesley Nading spent several days at Martinsville for his health. Geo. Itppp is carrying his arm in a sling on account of a carbunkie. Prof. J. W. Parrish spent Sunday with his parents near Fenn’s, Ind. David Maxwell'-; has sold out and will soon make California his future homo. Protracted meeting is being carried on at the Christian church this week. Joe McQueen and family attended the funera&of Grandmother Stoughton Monday. The saw mill has resumed work again, after o week’s stop on account of the breaking down of the engine. C. Stoughton and Miss Cochran were married at Rev. Joe McQueen’s Saturday evening. Here’s our best wishes. ST. LOUIS CROSSING. Will the waters be chilly whjgn we go up the river? There will be preaching at the M. E. church next Sunday. Several of the boys went to Columbus to the jollification last Friday. Corn husking is tlr\order of the day, but most of it is husked around the stove/. Services were held at the M. B. church Sunday last. A gopd number; were present. Mrs. Mattie Oliuger is very low with typhoid fever, but is some better at this writing. There are several aspirants for the post office at this place. Wonder wha will:,:win the prize. James Bostic, who was arrested for disturbing religious meeting at this place, was acquitted in ’Squire McQueen’s court last Saturday. Wesscnhf kner has made some improvements on his property. Mrs. Jake Grant, who has been quite sick, is not much improved at this time.
