CORRESPONDENCE. Sayings and Doings of Our Goualrg Goasins. FLATROCK* —o— Jno. Butler is spending two weeks in Virginia. Martin Scott moved to the country last week. Alvin Moore, of Sullivan, spent Sunday here with relatives. Geo. Ropp has moved into the house vacated by Martin Scott. Alex. Vangordon, of Columbus, passed through here-last Friday mi Ids way home. Geo. B. Stapp, of Hope, is covering Chas. McCartney’s house with tin this week. Doc. Winterrowd, of Lawvenceburg, was visiting relatives here the first of the week. Arthur Girton and family have left town and gone into camp on the banks of Flatrock. Chas. Wildey has quit railroading and gone to Sullivan county to work In Al. Moore’s saw mill. The canning factory is being thoroughly renovated before- the opening of the canning season. James Winterrowd a»d friends of Indianapolis, who have been camping on Flatrock, returned home on Monday evening. The grand camp meeting will commence Friday and last three days. A great time is expected, as it hasbeen advertised far and wide. Wesley Nading has a horse with sense above the ordinary. When turned loose in the barn lot and desiring a drink,, he approaches the pump, takes the handle in his mouth and works it up and down un titenough water- is pumped into the trough to satisfy his thirst. [The following correspondence was received too late for publication last week. — Editor. ] Wesley Nading is going to build a new store room. Jas. Moore, of Edinburg; spent Sunday in our town. Will Ensley has returned from West Baden springs. E. D. Vangordon, of Norristown, was in town last week. Chas. McCartney was on the sick list Sunday and Monday. Julius Showers and family, of Shelbyville, spent Sunday with Wm. Nading. Mrs. Wm. Dei went returned Saturday from visiting her daughter, Mrs. Lottie Be pier, of Columbus. Mrs. A., Moore and children, of Sullivan, are spending the summer here with her father; A. J. Winterrowd. Wm. Nading has bought the Eberhart elevator at Shelbyville, and will probably make that city his future home. Mrs. Frank Shoaf and daughters, Nettie and Bertie, left Friday for a weeks’ visit to her-son, William, who ■Fives in Dego, Cass county. ST. LOUIS CROSSING. —o— John Ward, left for the fan-west last week.. Threshing wheat proceeds finely this kind of weather. Harry Nading is attending to the office work of the grain firm here. Tunis Nading has quit buying grain for the firm, and is buying on his own hook now. Mr. Essex is, getting the material ready for his- new dwelling,, which will be quite an> ornament to the town. The sick list is being reduced, as all are convalescing except a daughter of E. R. Treadway, who is dangerously ill with typhoid fever. PICKET FENCING FOR SALE.
