The coming Chrysanthemum Show which will be held at Tomlinson Hall on November 5 to 9, inclusive, promises to be in all particulars the most elaborate and successful heretofore held in this city. The florists will vie with one another in exhibiting their products in various unique designs. A special feature and one which will attract from its various colossal proportions, will be four mammoth vases, each of 100 blooms, comprising red, white, pink and yellow, eacli vase to occupy a space of t’.vc nty-five square feet, orchids, roses, carnations, pot and cut ebrysanthemus, palms, ferns, etc., will form a rich floral bower by the abundance in which they will be shown. The musical feature of the exhibit will be on a liberal scale. The Indianapolis Military Band will give a concert each evening and special music will be rendered on Wednesday afternoon by the D. H. Baldwin Company, on Thursday afternoon by Emil Wulschncr &. Son, and cn Friday afternoon by the Smith & Nixon music

house.

The hall will he artistically decorated and made particularly attractive. The Central Traffic Association will make half-fare rates from all points within seventy-five miles of Indianapolis on Wednesday and Thursday, November 6 and 7, which will be good returning until November 8. This, with the fact that the Chrysanthemum Society will offer $1,400 in premiums, will assure a largo attendance and a wonderful floral show, eclipsing by far all former exhibits held in the hall. From the interest now manifested the attendance from the city alone would indicate that the show will be a financial success.—

enter the pulpit again he could have the pastorate of Trinity M. E. Church, twenty-fifth street and Indiana avenue, without asking for it, and would probably get one of the largest salaries paid in Chicago. The trustees are looking for a man who can make the church noted. Dr. John who filled the pulpit last Sunday, but not as a candidate, has been invited to preach again to-morrow. He accepted, and is expected to deliver sermons of a striking character upon his announced subjects: Morning, “The Sublimity of a Great Conviction”; evening, “The Uplifted Christ,

the World’s Uplifter.”

Dr. John, since his retirement from DePauw University, is taking a year’s vacation, and frequently delivers his lecture, “Did God Make Man or Did Man Make God?” a reply to R. G. Ingersoll. He was born in Brookvill, Ind., in 1843. From 1863 to 1889 he occupied professorships in Brookviile College and Moores Hill College, serving as president of the latter from 1879 to 1882, when'he accepted the chair of mathematics in DePauw. There ho remained until 1889, when he was chosen president of the college. His admirers credit Lim ivitli extraordinary abilities, most effective in the pulpit. .SIGNAL TRIUMPHS WON By Dr. Price's Croam Baking Pow-

. dor.

Two signal triumphs have been achieved by Dr. Price’s Cream Baking Powder. First it recieved Highest Award and Diploma at the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893. Next it secured Highest Award and Gold Medal at the California Midwinter Fair of 1894. At both Fairs it surpassed all competitors in every respet. The award, in each instance, was for strongest leavening power, perfect purity and general excellence. It was sustained by the unanimous vote of

the judges.

The victory at Chicago establishes the supremacy of Dr. Price’s as “The Foremost Baking Powder in the World.” The triumph at San Francisco confirms and emphasizes it.
