The Democratic meetings held at Higgins School House and Poplar Grove School House, in Cloverdale township, Friday and Saturday nights, were largely attended, and the Mr. Randel was listened to with the best attention and was liberally applauded. Harry Randel will prove a power for good in the present campaign he is one of the people and discusses the issues in a way that is appreciated by the people.

“Case Him Up.” The Rochester Sentinel says: The Republicans opened their campaign in this county in the court yard yesterday afternoon with a band, a pop gun orator and a small audience. A man by the name of Case was the speaker and if he did his best here his party had better take him home and case him up.

A story of great sotfering conies from Middlesex, Vt. Mrs. 11. A. Stockwell, a wellknown lady residing there, has endured the most intense agony from headaches. She continued to sulTer frightfully without obtaining relief. Finally a friend who had recovered from a similar complaint told her jnst what to do to be cured. She is now well and wants every suffering woman to know about it. Here is her re-
markable letter:
“About a year and a half ago,” she says, ‘*1 had a time of very severe headaches, which, while they lasted were so had that I could not sit up. They lasted from one to two days, generally two, and after 1 got over them I was completely prostrated. I tried many remedies but could not find anything to relieve me. 1 became fearfully discouraged and down-hearted and feared 1 should

A Surprise Pistols Expected. Mr. Southard, of the law firm of Stone & Southard, was here on Saturday taking depositions in the case Simons vs. Simons, the plaintiff praying for a divorce from his wife, the defendant. Mr. Southard is a partner of Henry Stone, a brother of Deputy Postmaster James Stone, and was raised in this county. There were a half dozen attorneys here from Louisville, connected with the case, and the witness whose deposition was to be taken, arrived from Indianapolis at the time expected. Arrangements wore made for administering the oath, and the official stenographer of the Kentucky court was brought here to take down the testimony, which was of a sensational character, the witness having been the partner in the wife’s illicit love. Just about the time that all was ready for the examination of the witness, to the surprise and consternation of the whole party, the inju red husband walked into the room and faced the man who had been his wife’s sinful companion. They were Kentuckians and war was expected to begin then and there a hush was upon the party in momentary’ expectation of seeing the flash of revol-
