Earl Trees has begun to remodel the property which he recently purchased on North Spring street.
The Auto hack line started out Tuesday with a fair business between Greenfield and Maxwell.
Frank Fort has gone to Lexington, Ky., where he will have charge of contract building work.
Alvin .Johnson is moving from the east half of the Fred Havens property on Main street to the Tindall property, corner of 5th and Noble streets.
0. H. Monger and son have sold 59 Ford Automobiles this season. This is their sixth year handling Ford cars.
Tom Bodkin, one of the best known civil war veterans of Hancock county is attending the G. A. R. Encampment at Indianapolis.

G. K. Jeffries, the popular General Superintendent of the T. H. I". & E. traction Company was in Greenfield Tuesday afternoon.
Oreal Binford of Houston, Texas was called home by the serious sickness of his father, Joseph Binford, of rural route 3.
Fred Thomas spent, Tuesday evening at Fortville. He made the trip on his motorcycle.
Ellison Barrett of this city and Willis Eastes of rural route 6 purchased Ford automobiles this week.
Thomas Hen ricks has moved his family to Knightstown where he has a position as a Pharmacist.

C. W. Parker, of route 6 and daughter, Mrs. L. P. Martin of Columbus were the guests of Dr. and Mrs. E. B. Howard, today.
Mrs. M. T. Minnev and family, of Oakland. California are expected here the last of the month for a visit with Dr. E. B. Howard and family and other friends. Mrs. Minney was formerly Miss Ruby Martin.

Corydon Knight will leave in a few days for St. Louis where he has accepted a position.
John M. McGill, of North East street is again confined to his home on account of sickness. He has been up some since returning from the hospital but has had a relapse.
The Auto Traction car which is nowr making regular trips from Greenfield to Maxwell will have the Columbia Hotel as its starting place.
Aged Lady Undergoes Operation. Mrs. Marie Bentley, 84 years old. who makes her home with Jesse F. Anderson, one mile east of town, was operated on at the Deaconess Hospital Thursday for cataract of the right eye. She had lost the sight of the left eye some years ago and was totally blind. The operation gives every promise of restoring the sight of her one eye, which will be a very great comfort to her in her advanced age.

Mr. and Mrs. BI. M. Wallsmith, of Hartford City who were at the bedside of her father, Joseph L. Binford of Blue River township, returned home Sunday.
Mrs. R. J. Hyatt and little son, Wallace Franklin, went to Muncie, Wednesday where they will visit her mother and other friends. Before returning to Greenfield they will visit relatives at Logansport.
John Q. White, of route 4 was in town Wednesday to see his daughter, Mae White who is taking treatment at Hill's sanitarium. Miss White has been sick for several weeks and was brought to the sanitarium Tuesday.

The new school building for Maxwell will be very large. A number of contractors will submit bids on it. Several Greenfield contractors are after the job.
Horace G. Beckner is making extensive improvements on his farm south of this city which he recently purchased of James Coleman. He is moving the buildings on the farm this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Scudder and son, Charles, living east of Fountaintown were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hilt of west South street Tuesday.
Several Greenfield people attended the circus at Indianapolis yesterday.
Mrs. N. S. Cox, of Richmond is spending a few days here with her mother, Mrs. James L. Smith.
Mrs. C. M. Gibbs left yesterday for New York on account of the serious illness of her sister, Mrs. George Tucker.
Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Rafferty of near Fountaintown spent yesterday with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Montgomery.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roberts motored to Noblesville and other points Sunday. They traveled sixty miles before returning.

Miss Maude Iliff of Frankfort is the guest of Greenfield friends. She was for several years a teacher in the Greenfield schools. For the past year she has been in the Normal school at Muncie. She is a daughter of Rev, M. H. Iliff former pastor of the M. P. church of this city.
Mrs. J. B. Anderson writes to a Greenfield friend from St. Petersburg, Florida, where she has spent the winter, that she will soon go to Windfall, Ind., for the summer. She will visit Greenfield later.
W. R. McKown of the Brooklyn Brick Company reports that they are selling an unusually large number of brick. Most brick companies are complaining about dull business.
