Mrs. Lucinda Wilson, of Greenfield Mr. and Mrs. Moses Vandenbark, of Nameless Creek, spent last Sunday with H. F. Wilson and wife. Mr. Wilson, who was operated on last week, is rapidly improving.

Miss Jane Stevens, of Lebanon, is visiting her friend, Mina Overman. The little son of Nannie Payne, of Cleveland, had his arm broken last Monday. The bone was set by Dr. Johnson.

Miss Dorothy Arnold was in town Monday, looking after her music pupils.

Mrs. W. R. Walker and daughters, Mabel and Delia, and M. R. Rush, of Mattoon, 111., were guests of Tressie Jones, of Warrington, Monday.

Will Wilson of R. R. 4, Greenfield, was assisting his brother, Hob Wilson, Monday with his threshing machine, getting it in order for the threshing season which will begin next week.

Mrs. Rolla McLaughlin and her sister, Mrs. Oma Skipper, of Palm Beach, Fla., returned Saturday from Willow, where they were visiting their brother, John Marsh, for a few days.

Messrs. Earl and Paul Bell, Clay White, Austin Myers and Paul Oldham entertained at a surprise party Saturday evening, July 5th, at the Overman home in honor of Miss Ruhamia Dixon, of Vanceburg, Ky., and Jane Stevens, of Lebanon. The following ladies were present: Julia Orr, Ruhamia Garland and guest, Ruhamia Dixon, Helen Craft %sMina and Adeline Overman, and guest, Jane Stevens.

W. S. Lane was at Indianapolis Sunday to visit Mrs. Lane who is at St. Vincent's Hospital.

Misses Jane Stevens, of Lebanon, Helen Craft, Julia Orr, Grace Braddock, Hildred Catt and Mina Overman, with Messrs. Dick Overman, Austin Myers, Clay White, Paul Oldham, Cassell Watson, Earl Bell, picnicked on Blue River July 4th.

Elizabeth Morris, of Greenfield, who has been visiting her uncle, John Collins and family, north of town, returned home Tuesday.

Sunday was Mrs. Earl Bell's birthday and her friends and relatives gave her a surprise dinner.

Mrs. Lavina McNamara is entertaining her brother from Missouri. He has just returned from Gettysburg, where he attended the reunion of the Civil War veterans.

Mrs. Bawls, of Indianapolis, is visiting with relatives here. Drs. Mace and Hawk operated on Dale Glass Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home, They removed his tonsils and two growths from his nose.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilson spent Sunday at Indianapolis. The children's day exercises held at the M. E. church here Sunday night were well attended.

Oliver Grigsby spent the first of last week with relatives near Philadelphia.

Mrs. Sweetman, who has been very sick at the home of her parerfts, is improving.

The Germans gave a picnic in Claffey's grove July 4th. Bud Boring and Henry Nichols are haying their buildings painted.

Mr. and Mrs. Ves Wagoner spent Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. John Larrison, at Indianapolis.

Chas. Herrlich and wife motored to Greenfield Friday. Wm. Ulrey was at Indianapolis on business Monday.
