Mrs. Chester Hill, of Carthage, visited Mrs. Johnson Monday. James Smith, age 85 years, formerly of this place, died at Rigdon at the home of his daughter last Thursday He was brought to this place Friday afternoon, Undertaker Lane meeting the train at Knightstown. The funeral occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A1 Mattix, Saturday at 1 p. m., Rev. Heim, of Brown's .phapel, officiating interment at Caldwell cemetery. The relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. John Grass and daughters, Lillian and Lucy, of Oakville Mr. and Mrs. John Parsons, of Rigdon John Bussell and wife, of Willow Joe Smith, Mrs. Carter and Mrs. Sarah Thompson, of Indianapolis Miss Lillian Beaver, Jane Munden, Harvey Smith nad wife, Freeman Smith and wife, Mrs. Alva Wood, Miss Lulu Wood, George Smith, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson and Mrs. W. Clark, of Greenfield.

Claude Crickmore and wife are the proud parents of a fine baby girl, born Monday. March 10th.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Addison returned home from Indianapolis on Monday, where they have been the guests of Frank Foley and wife.
Eva Walker visited her sister, Mary Simmons, at Spiceland sanitarium Friday.
Fred Niles has returned from Terre Haute, where he has been employed.
Miss Freda Herkless played at a musical at Knightstown Saturday night. Miss Helen Craft attended.
John Orr and wife, Otto Slifer, and Mrs. Rebecca Rock, of Greenfield, were recent guests of T. J. Owens, who is sick.
The ladies of the Friends church will hold a market at Emory Davis' store March 22d.
Lawrence Bell and wife have moved to Dr. Johnson's farm, north of here.
Miss Ruth Peacock, of Fairmount was a guest Sunday of Mrs. Cynthia Peacock.
Erank Craft was in Jennings county last week. The fourth and last quarterly meeting of this conference year will be held at Cleveland March 22 and 23. Let everyone interested in the work be present at the business session Saturday, the 22d, at 10 am.
Mrs. Jesse Simmons returned home from the Spiceland Sanitarium Saturday much improved.
Merle Lewis and wife returned home Thursday from Yincennes, where they have been visiting her brother, Ray Havens and wife.
Mrs. Irwin Binford entertained the Friends Aid Society Wednesday.
Mrs. Floyd Niles, east of town has been seriously ill at the home of Charles Niles in Knightstown, the past week.
Margaret Wagoner, of Greenfield, visited Leone and Phoebe Wagoner here Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pitts, of Carthage, visited Mr. and Mrs. Morton Stanley Sunday.
An Easter entertainment will be given March 23d at the Christian church Sunday morning.
Roy James and wife and Earl McCormick and wife, of Knightstown, spent Sunday at the home of J. H. Bell.
Mrs. J. F. Duty visited relatives at Greenfield Thursday. Mrs. C. M. Yandenbark and Mrs. Mose Yandenbark, of Nameless Creek, spent Wednesday with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hob Wilson.
The M. E. Ladies' Aid met with -Mrs. Cora Craft Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed a splendid meeting. They will have an Easter market and bazaar at Wilson's store on Saturday, March 22d, the proceeds to go toward paying for anew pulpit, chairs and other improvements.
Miss Jessie White spent Sunday at Greenfield with Clarice Julian and Miss Shumway.

Milton Johnson is moving from New Castle to the Jeffries farm, north of town...
Mr. Williams, who has been ill for some time, is not so well. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Harvey visited James Harvey and family Sunday.
Dr. Alex Lowe was at Indianapolis Saturday. Harvey Hutton, of Anderson, visited relatives here last week.

John Deck is not so well. Homer Johnson is improving, after an illness of several weeks.

Mrs. J. Barnard and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Swarms attended the funeral of Ira Roberts at Eden Monday. The deceased was a brother of Mrs. Barnard.

Steve Currens is moving from the Davis property to the tenant house of Levi Gourley and will work on the farfn for Mr. Gourley this summer.
Mrs. Mary Lynam, of Greenfield, was visiting with Mrs. Malinda Miller on Tuesday. Mrs. Miller is still quite sick.
Jacob Nibarger is on the sick list. M. M. Burris has sold his property to Joseph Travis, of Milroy. Mr. Travis is also a blacksmith, and will run the shop formerly run by Mr. Burris.
Mrs. Chester Burdsall, of Charlotesville, has purchased the loom of Mrs. Ella Richardson and will engage in weaving carpets and rugs.
Rev. Ned Beck and wife are at Marion holding a revival. Miss Eva Johnston, who lives near Boyd's school house, visited her aunt, Mrs. Nellie Kinder Tuesday, and called on some of her former schoolmates at the Charlottesville high school.
M. M. Burris is erecting a windmill south of Greenfield for James Clift.
Miss Josephine Davis was here Tuesday assisting Will Davis with the spring assessing.
Miss Neva and Nellie Beck entertained Wednesday evening, Ralph Lindamood and wife, Gaylen Boring, Eva Young, Paul Curry and Earl Aiken.

Rev. Kirkland and Prof. Lindberg are conducting evangelistic meetings which will continue two weeks
Next week services will be held in the M. E, church. Rev. Kirkland is an interesting speaker and is greeted with a good audience each evening. The stores will close each evening at 7 o'clock during these meetings.
Rev. Kirkland and Prof. Lindberg are staying with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fralich during the meetings.
The Ladies' Aid Society of the Baptist church at their meeting last Thursday, paid $100 more on their subscription to the building fund, having paid $800 in all. They subscribed $1,000.
