Wedding Anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Rabe, of Sugar Creek township, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Thursday evening at their beautiful country home. Mr. and Mrs. Rabe were married at the home of the bride's uncle in Marion county in 1872, and went to house-keeping on the farm now owned by them, never having moved. Mrs. Rabe came from Germany when 19 years old, to visit her uncle, little thinking when she left that she never more would see her native land. But in two years she was married to a soldier boy, and to go back was not thought of then. They have lived through many a hard strife but the "darkest clouds have silver linings" and so it has been with them.

Mr. and Mrs. Rabe have reared six children, four daughters and two sons. One son and a daughter are at home to care for their parents in their old age. We wish Mr. and Mrs. Rabe many more years of happiness and prosperity.

Thomas Wright, of Indianapolis, called upon Greenfield friends on Tuesday evening.
